Open Door Farm & Equestrian Where every horse has a home and every person has a place. Full service paddock and pasture board located 25 minutes from Airdrie, Cochrane and Calgary.

We are a women-run, multidiscipline, non competitive facility.

If you have some time and would like to get away from the city, hang out with some farm animals, and soak up the sun- we’d love to have you out at the farm 🚜 The warm months out here are busy and we’d welcome some extra sets of hands to help us out!

What you might do:
Walk the property and pick up debris
Move & tidy small/medium objects (“things that can fit in a wheelbarrow” sized)
Pet cows, goats, cats, etc (we know, this is a hard task)
Mend fences (the literal kind)

What you definitely don’t do:
Muck stalls (we don’t even have stalls)
Work in crappy weather (we’ll have some flexibility so you get the good stuff!)
Ride or handle horses (all of our horses have their own humans for that!)

We hosted our Spring Fling Fundraiser this past weekend and continue to be wowed (but never surprised) by the kindness and generosity this community shows to us and to each other 🫶🏼

We loved listening to the crowd cheer each person on as they showed their riding skills, and loved being able to eat good food and catch up with so many of you!
We also hosted one heck of a silent auction; thank you to all those who donated, who volunteered their time and energy to make it happen, and to all those who bid 🎟️
Thanks to you all, we raised approximately $2700, covering a significant amount of our new tractor attachment 🚜🌿
To all those who came, rode, participated, and donated- thank you. We are so grateful for this amazing community 💚🤎🤍

It’s nearly time for our ✨Spring Fling Fundraiser✨ on May 2nd! We’re excited to gather with our community, friends, family, and fellow horse lovers

Come enjoy the farm & our critters while we have a silent auction, a 50/50 draw, and a fun show, featuring barrels, a jump course, and an obstacle race🏇🏽
All funds raised will go toward the purchase of important tractor attachments for the farm 🚜🪏
Each year we have to rent this equipment, owning our own would allow us to:
• Maintain, improve, and create new riding trails
• Stay on top of weeds in the pasture and keep the property looking its best
• Fertilize our pastures multiple times per year to grow healthier grass
• Better manage manure piles with a spreader
& more!! 🌸🌾

We have some big news📣🎉
We’ll be continuing to put horse care first while being a place where people can be part of a positive and supportive community, under a new name: Open Door Farm & Equestrian🐴🚪

You’ll notice a new logo, updated signage around the farm, a new website for services and community events, with the same amazing herd of horses (and dogs, cats, cows, chickens…) and people!

We’re very excited to share these changes with you and we look forward to a bright, Open Door future together 🤎🫶🏼
