Rosseau General Store Groceries & Provisions since 1874 It was early August and the bell above the door announced a steady seamless chime as people entered.

I remember the first time walking into the store and feeling a good energy all around and a sort of kinship with the shoppers and shopkeepers of years gone by. The original wood floors spoke out by squeaking with every step taken. I could smell the morning baking wafting out of the kitchen. I heard warm and friendly staff greet all patrons as if they were long time friends. We ended our visit with a sugar cone from the summer store. Little did we know that just 7 months later, my wife and I would own the establishment. Sincerely Brian & Laurie - Shopkeepers

This Thanksgiving, we have so much to be grateful for.

From the warm hellos when you walk through our doors, to the kind words, encouraging feedback, and wonderful stories you’ve shared with us, this experience has been more rewarding than we ever could have imagined.

We’ve quickly come to appreciate that the Rosseau General Store is so much more than just a store. It’s a place filled with history, friendships, memories, and a genuine sense of community. We feel incredibly fortunate to be a part of that tradition and to have been welcomed so warmly.

To our customers, our neighbours, our amazing staff, and the entire Rosseau community, thank you. Thank you for your support, your encouragement, and most importantly, for making us feel at home.

We are excited about the future and look forward to continuing to build on everything that makes this little store so special.

There’s something truly special about a place that becomes part of people’s lives.

For more than 150 years, Rosseau General Store has been more than a place to stop for groceries, treats or cottage essentials. It has been part of summers, family traditions, childhood memories, first visits to the lake, and sometimes, even wedding days.

Stories like this are what give the store its soul.

“My family cottage is 15 minutes away from Rosseau and I grew up going to the general store. In the early 90s I would walk up the hill for 5 and 10 cent candies. I told my fiancé the only picture of the entire day I wanted was outside the general store.”

We absolutely love hearing these stories and seeing the moments you share with us. They remind us that the beauty of Rosseau isn’t only in the lake, the landscape or the village, it’s in the community, the traditions, and the memories that connect generations.

We feel incredibly fortunate to be a small part of so many of them.

And most importantly, congratulations to the newlyweds! We’re so happy Rosseau General Store could be part of such a special day, and we wish you both a lifetime of happiness, laughter and beautiful memories together. ❤️

Thank you for sharing your story with us. Please keep them coming.

Same store. Bigger moments.
