Picked up our first beef from the cut and wrap today.
It looks so great, but it's bittersweet because we weren't planning on butchering this cow yet. She was our favorite heifer and her calf was too big. Couldn't pull it and for a few reasons, it did not work out for the vet to do a c section, so we made the choice to process her. She was small and not exactly 'finished', but it is quite tasty sustenance none the less.

First calf 2024! We weren't expecting calves until June, so this was a surprise! Glad it came on a warm day. This cow obviously came to us bred, and she now has a nice, healthy bull calf. Our mare decided to try to steal her for her own (another story), but we separated them from everyone else for a few days, so they are happily bedded down by themselves
