We are so happy to share that sign-ups for our 7th Annual Winter Microgreens CSA program are now open!

We are thrilled to be offering this amazing program for our 7th winter. Ever wondered what its like to receive fresh, local, certified organic microgreens delivered right to your front door every week through the entire winter?! Now is the time to treat yourself and enjoy the fresh, local food you deserve - even in the winter!!

We deliver weekly on Tuesdays throughout the West Kootenays.

This year the program has limited space, and the deadline to get signed up is Friday October 6th. Deliveries start the first week of November.

And we are maxed! All four of our custom built grow shelves are full! This means we have about 260 trays of greens in production at all times.

This level of production means that we are growing enough nutritious greens to:

✨ Supply the new farm fresh home delivery service offered by the the Rooted Table Collective]

✨ Attend the awesome winter markets like the holiday market coming up next weekend!

Over the course of six years we have built up our MicroFarm to get to this point,and we are so excited to have our greens on so many plates throughout the Kootenays!

MEET YOUR FARMERS

We are Dan + Miche the farmers behind Flourish MicroFarm, and we thought it was high time to introduce ourselves again!

We have been passionate about growing microgreens for nearly 7 years, but it all started when we were trying to come up with ways to feed our community through the winter months. Being that we live in the mountains.... in Canada.... our outdoor growing season typically runs from April through October (ish). But if we are going to really get into the idea of building and contributing to a "sustainable" community or region, we absolutely need to discuss what the heck we are eating in the winter.

In our minds, we cannot truly be a sustainable community or region if the vast majority of our food that we eat from November - April is imported from other countries. Throughout the pandemic, and through many major climate events that have happened around us recently, it has become extremely apparent that food supply both internationally, provincially, and even locally is not as secure as we maybe thought it was - we can all agree on that, right?

So we have become more determined than ever to work even harder to make sure that our community and surrounding area can always access the good, healthy food we all deserve. What started out as a passion for providing nutritious local food in the winter has now blossomed into something that our communities and region needs.

That is why we have expanded our winter delivery CSA program to once again include an add-on program where our members can add on local veggies, fruit, eggs, meat, honey and more every single week!! So not only will they be receiving our delicious certified organic nutrient-dense microgreens, but our members can purchase add-ons to have a full food box delivered on a weekly basis. And all of the food available for add-ons comes from our growing collective of BC farmers over at the rooted table co.

We are coming up on the last week to get signed up for our first six week delivery session of delicious, nutrient-dense, certified organic microgreens that we grow right here in the West Kootenays!

We offer delivery to Salmo, Fruitvale, Montrose, Trail, Warfield, Rossland, Castlegar, Nelson and Winlaw.... and every little stop in between!

Our MicroFarm has grown so much over the years, and it's entirely been because of the amazing support we have received from all of you!

What started as a small project in the basement of our home, with a delivery route of 17 households in Rossland only....

Has now grown to a large commercial indoor grow space, with a delivery route that has expanded across the West Kootenays to include more than 150 households! And we are absolutely thrilled to see so many of you signing up for this winters delivery program again!

We feel so lucky that you choose our small family farm to feed you and your family throughout the year, and it is not a task we take lightly. We take pride in providing you with superior quality, certified organic microgreens all year long and we are excited to continue to offer our delivery service every winter.

Did you know that this winter we are once again offering an add-on program to our CSA members? This means that every week you can shop through our new online farm store (re-opening soon!) to add on seasonal veggies, fruit, meats, honey, preserves and so much more. You can even shop for holiday gifts from the comfort of your home, have us wrap it for you, and we'll deliver it right to your door for no extra delivery charge!

✨ INFLATION FREE ✨

It won't be long now until our MicroFarm is bursting at the seams again with certified organic greens coming straight to your doors!

This winter we are offering 16 weeks of home delivery between November and March. Our winter CSA program includes microgreens, but you can also add on eggs, produce, meat, honey and other farm crafted goods - every week! We are ramping up our online Farm Store for easy and convenient local shopping.

And, guess what?
Our prices haven't risen.
Our program cost hasn't changed.
Our local, organic food is the same price it was last year! So, in the face of rising food costs, it's an economically smart decision to turn inwards and support your local farmers and producers even more. Because I know we are all doing our best to keep good food affordable for you and your family.

After doing this for 5 years, we feel we have learned a thing or two 😅 and our program this year hopefully reflects how we have adjusted according to customer feedback and demand.
