ππ΄ DERBY COURSE WALK β FRIDAY, OCTOBER 23 @ 5 PM! π΄π
New to jumping shows? Course walks can feel like a LOT. π
Where do I go? How many strides? What pace do I need? What happens at the ditch? The hill? The sunken road?
Before Derby Day, weβre offering an educational course walk with Cheralyne Gibson so riders can learn how to walk a course with purpose and head into Sunday feeling confident. π
What is a course walk?
Before a jumping class begins, riders are given time to walk the course on foot so they can learn the route, study the jumps, and make a plan before riding.
Most shows only give you a short window before the class starts β so weβre turning ours into a learning opportunity! ππ
Cheralyne will walk you through:
π How to visualize and memorize your course
π How to walk and understand distances
π How to plan your pace and speed for different jumps
π How to think through turns, lines and approaches
π How to ride questions involving terrain like ditches, hills and sunken roads
π How to make a clear plan so you can ride every stride with confidence
π
Friday, October 23
β° 5:00 PM
π² $25 per rider.
βRemember, this is only for people. This is a non horse event.
β Mandatory for all riders showing on VEC horses
If course walks have ever felt confusing or intimidating, this is your chance to learn a simple method you can use at every show you attend. ππ΄
