🏇🌾 OUR FIRST OFFICIAL OUTDOOR CROSS-COUNTRY CLINIC IS HERE! 🌾🏇

The VEC outdoor cross-country course is ready to be ridden, and we’re celebrating by opening the gates for our Fall Eventing Clinic with clinician Laurel Vaadeland! 🎉

📅 September 25–27

We’ve designed this clinic as a three-day experience to help you and your horse build confidence, refine your skills, and finish the weekend by putting it all together on a full course! Riders of all experiences welcome, western riders included!

🌟 THE WEEKEND

FRIDAY | Ground Poles & Flatwork
We’ll start with ground poles and flatwork to prepare and refine the horse-and-rider partnership before heading out onto the cross-country course.
🕓 Later afternoon and evening time slots will be available to help accommodate riders’ schedules.
Friday is an optional add-on, but is strongly recommended for creating the best possible learning experience throughout the weekend.

SATURDAY | Cross-Country Training 🏇
A full day of cross-country exercises designed to build confidence, improve technique, and prepare horse and rider for Sunday’s challenge. Ground logs for beginner cross country pairs and up to 2’9 jumps for advanced!

SUNDAY | MOCK DERBY 🏆
Ride a derby-style course at the height of your choosing, putting everything you’ve learned into practice while receiving feedback and guidance from Laurel throughout the course.

💰 CLINIC FEES
• Saturday/Sunday Clinic: $175
• Friday Add-On: $50
• VEC Horse Rental: $75
• Weekend Stabling: $25
• Bring Your Own Pens: FREE stabling! 🎉

🐴 STABLING
Limited on-property stabling is available!
Have your own portable pens? Bring them along! We’re happy to accommodate you, and as a thank-you, stabling is FREE for those who bring their own setup.
On-property stabling is otherwise $25 for the weekend.
All pens must be cleaned before final departure.

📋 REQUIREMENT: A negative Coggins is required for all horses attending. If you are riding two horses please fill out a separate form for each.

🐎 VEC STUDENTS
Please confirm your lesson horse’s availability with Kat BEFORE registering. Once availability is confirmed, payment in full is required immediately to secure your horse for the clinic. Friday is mandatory for VEC students.

On July 10th we lost one of our shelters to a tornado. We have a fundraising opportunity at Pairieland Park this Sunday the 19th starting at 3pm cleaning stalls. No horse or stall cleaning experience needed! Just a willingness! Bonus if you have a shavings fork, flat shovel, fan rake or wheelbarrow you can bring! Please let me know if you are coming! Bring lots of water and shoes, gloves can also be handy!

Thanks to many helping hands yesterday the majority of the clean up has been completed! We just need it to dry up so we can get equipment in to finish repairs!

Camps and Lessons are a go as scheduled! Bring your rubber boots though!!

I was too busy to take pictures yesterday except for the removal of damaged fence line here. Thanks to Kim, Amelia, Elijah, Cody, Abby, Abby, Mark, Cassidy, Rhia, Ben, Jenna, Jennifer and Nathan for all your hard work and to Declan and Mark for supporting us!

Help request!

Hey folks. We got caught in that tornado yesterday. There’s significant amounts of trees damaged and we completely lost one shelter and the walls of another one along with three fence lines. I’m going to start the clean up and repairs this morning at 8:30 if anyone wishes to come help. If you have a drill please bring it with a number 2 Robertson (square) bit and nut drivers if you have them. And if you have a chainsaw and are good with it that would be great too! Kids are great but I need some adults to come help and direct the kids too! Bring rubber boots and gloves!

Also we’re in need of a post pounder if anyone has access to one!

Through Gods grace horses only had a few minor scrapes and 10 people and 6 horses were caught in the arena and were safe other than ringing ears. No animals or humans had much for injuries.

The ridge cap on the arena lifted if anyone has the ability to help us with that in future.
