There’s a reason we call it that.

Anyone who’s smoked a brisket knows about the stall — that point where the temperature stops climbing and the brisket decides it’ll be ready when it’s ready.

Ours spends its time out on the smoker on the patio, low and slow. No shortcuts. No rushing it. We’re good with slightly delayed.

SAIL AWAY SATURDAY — DETOUR TO MILANO

Today’s cocktail feature comes with a pretty fitting backdrop.

That’s my grandfather behind the bar in Northern Italy. He owned several hotels in the Italian Lakes region. I never knew him — he passed before I arrived — but apparently I ended up in the hospitality business anyway.

Today’s Sail Away Saturday feature is Detour to Milano — First Light Gin, Campari, Antico Amaro di Serravalle and Benjamin Bridge Nova.

Bitter, botanical, bright and bubbly. Italian at heart, with an East Coast detour.

We never really wanted Drifter to fit neatly into a box.

We brew b**r. We smoke meat. We make pizza. We smash burgers. We pour cocktails. We run together on Wednesdays, battle it out at trivia on Thursdays, and usually find a reason to hang around a little longer on the weekend.

Sometimes you’re here for dinner. Sometimes it’s a pint at the bar. Sometimes you drift in because you drove by and thought, why not?

That’s kind of the whole idea.

Good food made here. B**r brewed here. A crew that cares about what we do. And a place that doesn’t take itself too seriously.

No big occasion required.

Just drift in.

Meet the Saucy Clucker.

Our 24-hour buttermilk-marinated chicken thighs are fried crispy, tossed in house-made buffalo hot sauce, then piled high with shredduce, house-made dill buttermilk ranch and bread & butter pickles on a toasted brioche bun.

It’s crispy, spicy, tangy and proudly messy. There’s no clean way through this one—just get after it.

September at Drifter Brew Co.

September is stacked.

Smash Burger & Pint Wednesdays. Drifter Run Club every Wednesday at 6pm. Trivia Thursdays at 7pm. Late Night Pitcher & Wings every Friday and Saturday from 9–11pm. Sail Away Saturdays. Pizza & Pint Sundays.

And we’re hitting the road this month too with Drifter samplings at ANBL locations around the province.

We’ll finish the month with a big weekend — the KV B**r Run on September 26, followed by the post-run meetup back at Drifter, then the Social Cycle Event at DBCo. on September 27 at 3pm.
