The tulip crop is always a wild ride. It is an incredibly big jump into the flower season. Even with staggered early to late blooming varieities and all this cool, overcast weather, when the flowers are ready and it is time to harvest

The majority of the crop has been harvested. The cooler is literally jammed full. (Watch my stories for more cooler images)

Now is the time for all the orders for tulips. Fresh out of the ground and into your vases.
They're as delightful in the home as they appear here in these videos. These won' t last long, here for a good time but not a long time.

Yarrow
The sweetest, most versatile, power flower on the farm. YARROW!
She is a power horse producer of stems, she over winters, multiplies and gets bigger every season. What else can I say. Oh she has an amazing vase life, supports and fills the bouquets lile a best friend and can be dried as an everlasting blossoms. She is a giver on so many levels. A really dependable flower lile a best friend or sister. I give her two whole rows on the farm that is how much I love her.
Shes already green, bushy and ready to party for the season. She blooms in mid June until late July, and if you give her a good chop, then the she will even reward you with a second flush. The giver girl.
Grow something you need and love l, like Yarrow she's a great perennial for the home gardener.

Celebrate Mom with us!
This Mother's Day tell her how much she means to you with a bouquet of flowers grown close to home. Our tulips and daffodils will be here just in time for Mother's day. The field will be in full bloom.
We have a variety of ways you can give Mom a gift of fresh spring blooms grown here.

The flower shop will be stocked, for preorder pickup or self serve stop and shop options for you to choose when you get here. We accept online payments or cash.

Oh ok I love this
Im preparing any more maternity ward for my field this spring.

That hedge between your house and the neighbors' isn't a privacy screen. It's a maternity ward.

Right now, in a dense hedge or shrub row in a typical eastern suburban yard, there are likely multiple nests from different species built within a few feet of each other. They chose the same structure for the same reason — dense branching provides cover from hawks above and cats below.

A cardinal built low, about three feet up, tucked into a fork where the branches are thickest. She's sitting on eggs.

A mockingbird built higher, five or six feet up, on a platform of sticks near the outer edge where she can see in all directions.

A house finch wedged a cup of grass into the junction where a branch meets the trunk, sheltered from rain by the canopy above.

Three species. One hedge. None of them aware the others are there.

🌱 Before you trim this spring:

- Check inside before cutting — nests are invisible from the outside
- If you find an active nest, wait until the chicks fledge — usually two to three weeks
- Dense hedges produce more nesting attempts than open trees — the cover is the draw

The hedge you've been meaning to trim is the reason three species chose your yard. 🐾

Cherry Caramel Phlox
The shining super star of 2025.
This flower has to be one of the most versatile flowers I've ever grown and designed with. This trailing whimsical bloom is was easy to grow from seed germination to seedling planting. It transplanted like a champ, took off flourishing from the start and produced blossoms like it was on a mission. My kind of workhorse flower thats here to produce. She bloomed from mid July all the way until well past the frost it took a hard cold winter snap to kill the plants. She wasnt fussy for water or too much heat and performed like a true super star. She was the perfect accent supporting flower that went with evey colour palate. The story she told changed depending on the focal flowers she played the stage with. She even has a slight fresh fruit ful scent. In the end I think she is my all time favorite blossom I've ever grown.

She just got sowed today in the grow room. Along with the companion colour blushing bride. Shes pale pink and white. What a treat we are in for this season with this dynamic duo taking on the supporting blossom role for a second season.
