What a beautiful start to the day!

As our business keeps growing so does our commitment to serving our customers in the most efficient way possible. This morning we have concrete being poured with a busy and capable crew from JL Copping Construction making it happen. Our scale will be moved to this new location later this fall which will help ease congestion and keep traffic flowing smoothly in the yard during our busiest times.

Last week was a busy one with our annual crop tour but we couldn’t let August pass without celebrating Bimbo Orcullo’s first work anniversary with the Keating group!

Since joining us on August 11 2025 Bimbo has become a valued member of our team. He’s energetic, eager to learn, and takes on every task with a smile.

Thank you for all your hard work and positivity Bimbo. We’re glad to have you on the team. Happy one-year work anniversary!

Thank you to everyone who took the time to attend and participate in our annual crop tour yesterday. It was a beautiful morning to tour the plots and discuss topics ranging from the seeds beneath our feet to the broader trends, challenges and rewards of Canadian plant breeding plus the promise and power of AI to help us farm smarter and live better.

Enjoy what's left of the summer and best wishes from our team for a safe and bountiful harvest!

The tractors are parked for a while now so, amongst other things, the crew is getting their steps in with roguing season upon us. We have several acres of new wheat varieties this year that have been planted with Breeder seed. We will multiply each of these varieties between now and when they reach our customers' fields as Certified seed in 2029, inspecting each generation and removing visible off-types to ensure genetic purity.
Roguing is a laborious process but it allows us a closeup look at how the new varieties are performing and how the crop is looking overall. Plus it's a great opportunity for building up mosquito antibodies!

This video hits close to home. 🌾

As a farmer-owned, multi-generation Certified seed company serving the Parkland region for over 70 years we know firsthand what's at stake when it comes to the future of public plant breeding in Canada.

About 90% of Canada's cereals, pulses, and other small-seeded crops come from independent, often family-run seed businesses just like ours. Together we represent over $1.7 billion in infrastructure, thousands of rural jobs, and deep roots in the communities we call home.

We're proud to be part of that story and we're committed to making sure it continues.
