The Cooke family and employees wish to express our sincere condolences to the Asman family and our colleagues at Tassal on Mark’s passing.
Mark was a family first gentleman with an unwavering commitment to building strong working waterfronts through decades of salmon aquaculture and supporting others growth. He will be missed greatly and we thank him for this many contributions having recently retired as Head of Farming at Tassal.
Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends in Tasmania at this difficult time.

Remembering Mark Asman
Over the past few days as we have tried to come to terms with the loss of Mark Asman, we have been reminded of just how many lives he touched and how deeply loved and respected he was.
We have heard so many stories about his extraordinary contribution to Tassal and aquaculture globally, but even more importantly about the man he was. He was kind, humble, generous and someone who quietly made a difference to so many.
At the heart of Mark’s life was his family Wendy, Judy and Casey. While we have lost a much-loved teammate, mentor and friend, they have lost a husband and father, and our thoughts and support remain first and foremost with them.
Together with Wendy, Judy and Casey, we would like to bring people together to remember Mark and celebrate the extraordinary person he was. To show our continued support for them as they navigate this tragic loss, we are working towards a time on Friday afternoon, 25 September, with further details to follow.
It will be a time to surround Wendy, Judy and Casey with our love and support, share stories and memories, and celebrate the remarkable impact Mark had on so many lives and I suspect never truly realised.
There will be sadness but also warmth, laughter and enormous gratitude for the privilege of knowing Mark.
Most importantly we will come together for Mark and for the family he loved so dearly — to remember him, honour him and celebrate the legacy he leaves behind and the support that we will continue to provide them as they journey through their grief and any challenges ahead.
