Honeybee update! I’ve never had my bees outgrow their space so fast, I thought I was finally going to be on the ball this year, but I’m worried I may have been too late again this year in giving them some more space.

We will just have to keep an eye on them to see how they make out and hopefully we can add another box to my 3rd beehive very soon!

Let’s put together a goodie bag to donate to the local county fair! 👩‍🌾

I have been attending this county fair for years now and I’m excited that they reached out to me to make a contribution to their fundraiser. I have many hopes and dreams to participate in their exhibits and bring home some ribbons for my produce or baked goods or canned goods.

Hopefully this time next year, we have even more goodies at the farmstand that I can include in my donation! Queens County Fair

Brenda is a sweet girl who keeps to herself, doesn’t want to participate in any drama and doesn’t mind moving aside to let the other ladies use their favourite nesting boxes.

I think we may have moved into the most wholesome neighborhood ever - we were invited to a neighborhood BBQ! It was so nice getting to meet everyone. We were inspired to hopefully host a neighborhood BBQ at our property someday 🙂

Thank you for the best dip recipe ever! It was the perfect dip to bring to a backyard BBQ! 🍔

One of my quail roosters laid an egg - let’s figure out which one it was! 🪺

Since I am new to keeping quails, I am still learning how to tell the difference between a hen and a rooster. It seems like this time, I correctly guessed which of my boys isn’t actually a boy! Thank goodness. I appreciate those of you for sharing advice and tips.

Hopefully over the next month or so, I will prepare an elaborate quail themed dinner party, so make sure to stay tuned for that, and feel free to send me any recipe recommendations!

Congratulations to my little quails for being this weeks employees of the week! These new cute little blue eggs were such a fun surprise, and they have been putting in the work laying so many eggs every day! 🪺

A new egg colour! 🪺

I only have 2 young chickens that I think these could be from- they hatched from my azure blue chicken eggs over the winter & they are such a cool green blue colour. I especially love the bright blue coloured “ink splotch” on one of them!
