A huge thank you for nominating us again this year, it is such a warm feeling to be recognized by the community for the love, sweat (lots of sweat) and tears that I've poured into this farm.
Many of you know the story, but for those that dont, here it is.
I started at Mayfair as an employee who had been struggling to find the right place and path for my life. When I walked through the doors to the greenhouse and smelt that fresh air we all love, I found my home. Working my first few hours I had finally felt like I found where I was suppose to be just to find out a few hours later that it would be the last season the owners were growing. A moment of sadness came over me as I realized this perfect fit wasn't going to last, but as dreamers do, the idea came to mind that I should just buy the buisness.
Well, by day 3 of working at the farm, I had officially made an offer to buy the buisness and take over Mayfair. I had a huge houseplant collection at that point, but had no experience growing annuals/perennials and had only planted a few vegetable gardens in my life, but the plan was in motion and I was about to take on the biggest opportunity of my life.
We spent months working as employees and trying to learn as much as possible before the big take over day. Fast forward two years and im finding the groove and turning the farm into what I dream it can be.
Many of you have stood by and watched as I have faced huge challenges and disasters while offering a shoulder to lean on during the darkest times, and many of you have cheered from the rooftops as you have witnessed the successes unfold here. I am forever grateful for this community for the love and support.
Thank you for believing in me and being apart of this beautiful journey. Here's to many more years of big flowers and gorgeous yards created by our wonderful customers and friends ♡
