We are so incredibly honoured to have been a part of such a meaningful event in our community. 💛
Watching the passion, energy, and heart that went into the 10th Annual Spelling Bee was truly inspiring. We were honestly in awe of the organizers, volunteers, teams, and everyone behind the scenes who worked so hard to make the night such a success.
To see over $17,000 raised for literacy programs in the North Okanagan-Shuswap is amazing — and a reminder of what a strong and caring community we have here.
Thank you to the Literay Alliance of the Shuswap Society for allowing The Sweet Magnolia to be a small part of such a special evening.

WE HAVE OUR CHAMPIONS!
Huge congratulations to Team Bee-Witched for taking home 1st place at our 10th Annual Spelling Bee! A massive round of applause to our incredible runners-up: Rotary Buzzers and Family Centre Stingers.

This year was a record-breaker—with over $18,000 raised to support community literacy programs right here in the North Okanagan-Shuswap!

This event wouldn't have been possible without our amazing community partners: The Sweet Magnolia for the delicious catering Song Sparrow Hall for being the perfect venue and Beauty and the Beard Photography for capturing all the magic.

I’m hosting an intimate creative night at The Sweet Magnolia in Salmon Arm and would love for you to join! ☕️🌱

The hardest part is always just starting. And that's exactly what ArtPlay is about: making the first mark before you feel ready and trusting the next one will come.
What we practice on the paper, we take into our lives.

I'll guide you through simple prompts using materials like paper, pastels and mark-making tools - nothing fancy, nothing intimidating.

It's about noticing yourself in the process - learning to trust your own choices, and finding your way back to play.

Plus drinks and sweets are available by The Sweet Magnolia with their cafe being an experience in itself.

You’ll leave with:
– a little piece of your own artwork
– a small take-home journal with reflection prompts
– and feeling lighter, more expressive, and a little more like yourself again

Come solo, bring a friend, or just do something for yourself, you may even meet your new tribe.

I opened a cute little café thinking
“aww I’ll make some crepes and vibe.”
Now I’m in a committed relationship with a Krampouz crepe maker
and I make more emotional decisions than business ones.
I don’t run a café.
The café runs me.
I’m basically an employee
who accidentally got access to the bank account.
People walk in like
“this place is so aesthetic 😍”
Ma’am I cried in the back 12 minutes ago
next to the to go boxes.
I thought I was building a cozy, slow-living brand.
Now I aggressively restock oat milk
like I’m preparing for the apocalypse.
“Limited quantity” doesn’t mean exclusive.
It means I miscalculated,
panicked,
and now I’m emotionally attached to the last 3 muffins.
My hobbies used to be things like
relaxing, seeing friends, having a personality…
Now I rotate between: • making coffee
• thinking about making coffee
• recovering from making coffee
People are like
“you’re your own boss!!”
Yes ❤️
and she’s toxic, overworks me,
and doesn’t let me take breaks.
I wake up every morning like
“today I will have balance.”
And then immediately choose chaos
and 47 small tasks that could have been avoided
if I had systems.
I created a business where:
• I’m the owner
• I’m the manager
• I’m the staff
• I’m HR
• I’m customer service
• I’m the emotional support animal
and somehow still… the weakest link.
Also love when people say
“must be nice to just make coffee all day”
Yes ❤️ I simply wake up at 5am
to solve 19 problems
and then pretend I’m okay
while frothing milk.
Anyway, come in today 🥰

support a woman who hasn’t had a full thought
since 2024.
anyway…
I complain a lot, but I wouldn’t trade this.

🌸 Spring Break just got sweeter at Sweet Magnolia!

Starting this Tuesday, we’re introducing our Sweet Magnolia Kids Menu — filled with fun favourites like crepes, mini pancakes, grilled cheese wands, and cozy treats.

Each kids meal comes with a small apple juice, orange juice, or milk, making it the perfect stop for a family breakfast or lunch during spring break.

Bring the kids in for something delicious while school’s out — we can’t wait to see all the little faces enjoying their treats!

Today is International Women’s Day and I’ve been thinking about how many women carry the weight of the world quietly.
Women who build businesses.
Women who rebuild their lives.
Women who raise children while trying to hold themselves together.
Women who show up every day even when it’s hard.
The Sweet Magnolia was built by a woman who just kept going. Some days with confidence… and some days with tears.
To every woman who is trying, growing, healing, building, dreaming, or simply surviving — I see you.
You are stronger than you know.
