As a young child I spent my summers in Suffolk, on the East coast of England. Close by lived a couple of what I then thought of as ‘old ladies’. They were two sisters living together, and every summer they made these beautiful lavender wands. I loved these wands then, and my mother kept them in her drawers, until I brought them here. They are over 50 years old, no longer smell of lavender, but have, none the less, retained their beauty.
Many people ask what inspired me to start a lavender farm? The closest thing I can say is, “the two ‘old ladies’ and these beautiful wands”.
