✨ Meet Mud and Puddle, our sister duo!

🐷 About Mud and Puddle
• Breed: Kunekune
• Age: Less then a year old
• Fun Fact: We initially got them to seal a pond that Keri dug in the summer of 2025. It will be a test this summer to see if the pond holds water. Now they are part of the grazing team.
• Favourite Food: Milk leftovers from Mona
• Personality: Very talkative. Curious. Always hungry.

💛 Why we love Mud and Puddle:
Mud and Puddle came to us to complete a job. Now that it’s done, we keep them as pets to graze areas and clear brush. They love eating nettles and blackberries. Plus they raise our cuteness factor by a lot!

🥚🌾 From our farm to you:
The girls are currently in the field close to the stand so make sure you stop by and say hi while you’re getting your farmstand goodies

No no no ladies, you are suppose to lay the eggs and the customers buy them.

Meet Mona
Our main milk cow and mother of Molly.

🐮 About Mona:
• Breed: a mix of Highland/Dexter
• Age: 5 years old
• Fun Fact: She’s our Salt Spring cow. Shes lived on the island her whole life but came to our farm by fate. Showed up one day from our neighbors and hasn’t left since.
• Favourite Food: Grass, corn and squash
• Personality: Sass as big as her horns. Cautious but curious. The loudest voice of the herd.

💛 Why we love Mona:
Mona has been hand milked daily for over two years. She came to us with minimal experience being handled so we couldn’t be happier with how far she’s come. Her horns can be intimidating but she is a gentle giant (although she’s quite short, the horns make her seem bigger).

Not all farm chores are chores… sometimes you just have to check on the pond life 🐸💧
Spring is waking up out here.

✨ Meet Molly
Daughter of our milk cow, Mona - Molly was the first calf born on Byron Farm since the 1990’s

🐮 About Molly:
• Breed: a mix of Highland/Jersey/Hereford
• Age: 2 years old
• Fun Fact: was born naturally polled (meaning no horns) even though her highland Mama has horns longer than two feet! She is also the first Heifer successfully AI’d (artificially inseminated) by Keri. She should be having her first calf in September 😍
• Favourite Food: Grass, surprisingly does not enjoy carrots!
• Personality: Calm, Gentle, Quiet
💛 Why we love Molly:
Sweet Molly is so quiet and gentle, great with kids and loves good scratches between her shoulders
