Is your basement floor slowly making your family sick β without you ever knowing it?
Most people never think to check under their flooring, laminate, linoleum, carpet... it goes down once and stays down for years, sometimes decades. Out of sight, out of mind.
We recently pulled up the linoleum in a customer's laundry room for a routine floor upgrade. What we found underneath wasn't routine at all.... black mold, spreading across the subfloor and soaking into the concrete. No smell upstairs, no stains on the walls, nothing that would've tipped them off. Just years of trapped moisture doing quiet damage underneath their feet, in a room they walked through every single day.
Here's the scary part: you don't have to see mold to be affected by it. It releases microscopic spores into the air and in an enclosed space like a basement, you can breathe those in for months without realizing it. Any symptoms often go unnoticed because there's nothing obvious pointing back to the real cause.
We sealed the concrete in this laundry room with a fully waterproof polyaspartic coating. No seams, no organic material for mold to latch onto, nothing but a clean, solid surface built to handle Saskatchewan's moisture and freeze-thaw swings.

When's the last time you actually looked under your basement flooring?
