Meet our Chicken Champs, George and William!

These two joined us at Ag Experience in Saskatoon last week as farmer presenters, answering questions from students and sharing what raising chicken in Saskatchewan actually looks like.

And here’s a fun fact about George: he also helps Alberta Chicken Producers (Alberta Chicken Producers) educate people about chicken farming.

So yes, Saskatchewan and Alberta have learned to share George. 😂🐔

Last week, we celebrated Agriculture Week in Saskatoon alongside our ag friends, our chicken farmers, and a LOT (and we mean A LOT) of students! 😂

Three days of talking chicken, answering questions, learning about agriculture and meeting some pretty curious future farmers (maybe even a few future chicken farmers 👀🐔)

Shoutout to Agriculture in the Classroom Saskatchewan and all our ag friends for making the week so much fun!

Today, we’re thankful for Saskatchewan farming families, our friends at Turkey Farmers of Saskatchewan and everyone gathering around the table. ❤️🇨🇦🐓

…And pumpkin pie. Especially pumpkin pie. 🥧

On October 2, we presented the Chicken Farmers of Saskatchewan Award in Veterinary Medicine to Vanessa Tuytel and Victoria Romanovich. 🐓

The award recognizes two veterinary medicine students interested in pursuing a future in the poultry sector and this year’s recipients already have a few connections to ChickenSask.

This is Vanessa’s second time receiving the award. At this point, we’re taking the hint. Poultry might be in her future. 👀

Victoria may look familiar too. She’s a former member of the ChickenSask team, so seeing her receive the award made this one a little extra special. Turns out, you can leave ChickenSask and still end up talking about chickens. We respect the commitment. 😂🐓

Congratulations, Vanessa and Victoria! We’re excited to see what comes next for both of you. ❤️🇨🇦🐓
