We’ve been busy, Saskatchewan. 🙌

Over the last little while, we’ve watched students light up when they got to hold a baby chick for the first time, answered some surprisingly tough chicken questions during our virtual farm tours, and saw just how competitive a Chicken Challenge Kahoot can get.

We also had the chance to join the celebration for Zak the Bison’s 1st birthday and the grand opening of our friends

We’re giving a shoutout to all Canadian dairy farmers and farm families across the country, including our friends at and here in Saskatchewan.

Last year, 11 children from southern Saskatchewan were newly diagnosed with cancer. An additional 169 children currently receive treatment, follow-up care or monitoring by the dedicated medical team in our Children’s Cancer Clinic, at the Regina General Hospital.

Thanks to partners like the Chicken Farmers of Saskatchewan, the Foundation is investing $2.8 million to create a pharmacy clean room which will allow our pharmacists to create customized chemotherapy for each child, based on their bloodwork the day of treatment and their cancer’s unique molecular profile. Personalizing treatment in this way lessens harmful side effects, reduces damage to healthy cells and gives our kids the greatest chance at the best results possible.

When they picked up copies of Farmer Ivy’s Chickens at our AGM, one ended up going to their newest Champion Child,  also named Ivy.
 
Apparently she loved it. Just one of those small Saskatchewan moments that felt worth sharing. Have a great weekend everyone! ❤️🇨🇦🐓
