Spotted Moose Farm

Spotted Moose Farm We sell at 3 local farmers markets, to several local restaurants, and out of our store on the farm.

We are a young family who are dedicated to creating a diverse farm of a variety of vegetables, fruit and nut production to provide our community in the North Shuswap with food sovereignty.

We woke up the other day to the wonderful news that we no longer have to worry about laws or 'rules-based order'. Even the left was cheering on the orange man and his regime-change oil grabs so we figured we would go to war as well.

If anyone asks, we just lie about it. It was lightning, we will say. My war chiefs, even at 5 and 7, have already mastered (well maybe not quite) the art of lying and changing their stories a hundres times to get out of trouble 😅😅. And my generals just bark, so theyll be no help to any potential war crimes tribunal that wont happen anyways.

Anyways, it was the cheeky voles that were planning another summer of strikes on our gardens. Armed with voracious appetites, teeth, and a fablulous work ethic, these rodent-terrorists were already sucking at the nectars of our raspberry stalks, and spring hadnt even broke! Horrible creatures these vicious beet lovers are.

So the doctor prescribed some burns. Hopefully it will give us a buffer from the sinister volerrists in the borderlands and some regenration will come to the land or something of that nature.

Nothing says winter like a cross country ski with the boys!

These trails have become our winter refuge, our play time, and that chance to regain strength after a long summwr in the gardens.

Whether its cross country skiing, snowshoeing, or tow behind skiing with the snowmobile, these trails are set to provide us and our friends with hours of snow filled fun.

Who's up for a ski?

What a beautiful day, and what better way to bring in the new year than an afternoon bonfire and toboggan!

Bring your favourite sleds, smokies, marshmallows, and warm winter drinks, and see if you can outsled an original Brett Hull GT stealth!

Fire will be lit at 1, parking at the hkuse and farm store. See you there!

Another part of the equation that tells the story of why the prices of food keep rising. No young farmers to take on the burden, so giant corporations keep buying up land and employing 'operators' to grow the food.

They have only one interest. Maximize profits for shareholders. They dont care for the land, they dont sell at an honest and fair price.

Farming has become uncool. Dirty labour for peasants. It's why we import half of our farm labour from poor countries, while millions sit on ei. The more this pattern keeps up, the further down the path of corporate control we go.

See you today at the Lakeview Community Centre Christmas Market!

Keep your holiday shopping as local as possible this year! When you spend a dollar (cash we hope) at one of these markets, you know absolutely none of that money is going to a giant foreign corporation and its wealthy shareholders, or to one of the richest people in world to help them fuel their private jet. 100% stays here in the community, and it helps another neighbor survive until next Market season!

You decide, Jeffery Bezos and the Waltons, or strengthening community bonds.

Local doesn't just mean that 100% of money you spend stays here with a local family. For us, it also means fresh. Fresh means your meals will have more flavor, more color, and more nutrients to keep you healthy. Nutrients deficient foods are one of the biggest reasons we have so much chronic illness.

Some of the food you buy at supermarkets was harvested 2 or even 3 months ago. They've perfected the art of storing food. The industrial system does this to ensure they never have shortages. But during that time, food slowly degrades, leaving it flavorless and depleted of essential nutrients. That can also compound the fact that if may have been depleted at harvest, as it was grown in degraded soils that have been depleted of minerals from years of abuse.

This Thanksgiving, fill your dinner table with fresh, local food, and enjoy your meals the way nature intended them to be.

Come up to the farm store and discover the difference for yourself.
