Spotted Moose Farm

Spotted Moose Farm We sell at 3 local farmers markets, to several local restaurants, and out of our store on the farm.

We are a young family who are dedicated to creating a diverse farm of a variety of vegetables, fruit and nut production to provide our community in the North Shuswap with food sovereignty.

Its official!

🥏🥏Tomorrow will be the grand opening of the Spotted Moose Disc Golf adventure.🥏🥏

We will be open every day from 11AM to 6 PM until at least the end of September. 9 holes will be ready tomorrow with another 9 come spring.

Green fees will be $5 for youth 7 and up $10 for adults, 6 and under free. This includes a basic frisbee to use for your round, and we have a limited selection of 3 disc sets to rent for an extra $5. We do have a limited selection of both the frisbees and discs so you are encouraged to bring your own!

This modest fee will help us develop the course into a living food forest upick disc golf course, with an abundance of fruit trees and berry bushes planned for every hole. This summer and fall adventure will be bare bones. We have no public washroom facility yet but there are drinks and farm fresh snacks and freeze dried fruit in the farm store.

We look forward to having you out!

They said Strawberry season would come to an end.

They said we were entering the age of Raspberries, and that as sure as the seasons change, so must the berries.

So we bought a freeze dryer, and are harnessing the ingenuity of mankind to prolong strawberry season while supplies last.

Come up to the farm store and treat your senses. These treats taste amazing!

Did you know....?

Strawberries consistently rank in the top 3 most toxin covered foods in study after study. Most of those pesticides and fungicides are linked to cancers and contribute to the chronic illness we see in society today.

Even 'local' doesn't mean much these days as most mid to large scale berry growers are following industry best practices that are there to guarantee a strong yield from their investment. Its important not just to ask where its from but what kind of practices that farm follows.

At Spotted Moose Farm we maintain healthy plants by cultivating healthy soil, believing in a probiotic culture for good health rather than a poisonous culture for sterility and flavorless foods.

Whatever it is seems to be working. We don't see much loss in the patch and consistently push incredible berries.

Come taste the difference and treat yourself to a few less hospital days

From Wikipedia

The yellow oyster mushroom (Pleurotus citrinopileatus), also known as the golden oyster mushroom, is a vibrant, edible fungus native to eastern Asia. It features bright yellow caps, a delicate nutty and slightly citrus flavor, and a tender texture that makes it a popular ingredient in stir-fries, soups, and pasta dishes.

These oysters grow on innoculated cottonwood logs from our first mushroom farm experiment 6 years ago. They just keep pushing, and have become a top 3 favorite along with the morel and the lobster.

Some will be in the farm store fresh all week, some on our dinner plates and in our omelettes. The rest will end up in our new freeze dryer so youll have a chance to find em at the farm store or at the Celista Hall Farmers Markets all summer long.
