Let me tell you a tale as old as time: Farmer vs. Rain.

In the spring, we don’t want too much rain. The fields need to dry out so we can get in and work them.

But we don’t want them too dry.

So we wait. We watch the forecast. We pray for rain.

But not too much rain.

And preferably not on the exact day we planned to plant, bale hay, fix fence, move cattle, or tackle the thousand other jobs on the list.

Then the rain comes.

“Perfect,” we say. “Maybe this is a sign to catch up on a few emails.”

A few days later…

“Okay, that’s enough rain. Are the fields okay? Please stop raining.”

Then it stops.

For a while.

And suddenly we’re back to staring at the forecast again.

The poor thirsty plants.

Come on, rain.

Then finally, one evening, you hear it tapping on the roof and can’t help but smile.

This is the cycle we’ll be caught in until the cows come home 😉 The farmers before us knew it. The farmers after us will know it too.
