Since the first round of unjustified tariffs from the Trump administration, Chapman’s has been working to re-source our components to Canadian companies, or non-U.S. companies, without increasing the costs for our consumers. We are on track to convert over 70% of our American ingredients by mid-2027.

Not only have we managed to keep our component costs the same, but we have also partnered with other Canadian companies to reshore production of some items that have never been produced in Canada before!

We stand with the Canadian government, and all provinces, in our outright rejection of these unjustified tariffs. Walking away from a ‘deal’ that would sacrifice our economic sovereignty and harm the unique cultural identity of Quebec was the only option.

As the trade war escalates, we are making the commitment to our customers that we will not have a price increase from now until March 2028. We would like to share a little story arising out of welcoming so many highway workers in the past couple of months from DTI, Miller, Eastcoast Traffic Control and others.

First of all, it’s no secret that we pride ourselves on providing an exceptionally welcoming experience for our local and seasonal customers as well as visitors to our community. We believe that it is one of the ways we support the economic well-being of our community: by showing visitors warm hospitality and genuine interest, we help them to form a positive impression of our community which helps to enhance our reputation and to draw even more visitors.

That being said, knowing that our community would receive an influx of highway workers this summer, we made special efforts to make them feel welcome, respected and appreciated. Now, with the road work wrapping up for the season, we have heard from many of them that they have never been welcomed and treated so kindly and respectfully as they have in our community. And some of them have worked on the highways for decades.

Marjorie, Vicky, Ann-Marie, Rebecca and Stephen have many new friends who will now remember our community fondly as their work takes them to other places - and we hope to see them all again next year ❤️.

Wider, flatter, smoother and soon to be road shoulders!

Miller will finish up road shaping and driveway thresholds today near Murray Road in preparation for the first coat of chip seal. The second will happen next season, along with rehabilitation of Amos Point Road to Highway 15.

Kudos to Department of Transportation and Infrastructure, The Miller Group and their subcontractors and Safety First traffic control for your fast, efficient, courteous and professional work!
