We would like to acknowledge that the land on which we live and tend is the traditional unceded territory of the Sinixt People. Tim has been growing organic food for almost 30 years, and has had the pleasure of working on both large and small organic farms. He also is a foodie and enjoys feasting on delicious homegrown food. An artist and a silversmith, when not farming, Jen can be found creating
jewellery inspired by life in the Slocan Valley as well as teaching fabric arts using the fleece from the farm's sheep as well as printing and dying, using the plants in her gardens. She also enjoys preparing and feasting on home grown goodness. Fairway 4 Farm began as an area covered in knapweed, digging in we discovered we are on a sand dune, possibly the river bottom or edge in ancient times. Our sheep have cleaned up most of the invasive weeds, and added some fertility to the land, but it is a long way off to rich, black, fertile soil, but every year it gets a little better. We are in love with this place and it provides everything we need: our food, water, medicine, shelter, heat, all come from this place and we understand how fortunate we are and our responsibilty to this place and it's creatures.
