If I had a dollar for every thistle (jk) but really I’m so satisfied with my garden 🪏 this year. Thanks 🙏 Dad for all your help. Means so much. And now my hubby keeps reminding me to simply rest and enjoy. 😊. I think I will.

Shannon gives her garden her all 🌱

She grows enough to feed her family (and plenty of friends) for the year. Is it hard work? Heck yea! There’s seed starting, planting, watering, weeding, pest control, harvesting, preserving … and building the infrastructure.

🌿 Borage is a beauty in more ways than one.
Known for its soothing, skin-loving properties, borage oil is rich in gamma-linolenic acid (GLA), an omega-6 fatty acid. We use borage oil in our Goldrush Serum and Mountain Breeze Face Oil.

And yes, you can eat it too! 💙

The blue, star-shaped flowers are edible and have a light, honey-like taste. They’re lovely added to salads, desserts, or drinks.

🌱 Young leaves have a fresh, cucumber-like flavour and can be eaten raw or cooked. Just keep in mind that borage leaves contain small amounts of pyrrolizidine alkaloids (PAs), so they’re best enjoyed occasionally and in moderation.
