Valley Custom Cutting is a butcher shop and Free-Standing Meat Plant in Smiths Falls. Valley has a fantastic team of skilled butchers, packers and retail staff help who help bring you the highest quality, local and Canadian meats. VAlley is a different model then a traditional butcher shop. There is a beautifully appointed butcher shop in the front which offers a fresh meat counter providing custom cuts of Local and Canadian meats to walk in customers. As well as the self serve Freezer Section with the option for larger custom freezer orders. A Free Standing Meat Plant is located behind the scenes which offers custom meat cutting, packaging and additional services (sausage making, labeling, pricing) to local meat producers. Valley works with multiple surrounding abattoirs in order to facilitate the transportation of product to the plant for processing. All products for both the Butcher Shop and the Producers are processed in the new state of the art cutting facility, featuring new coolers and freezers, modern equipment, and staffed by skilled and qualified butchers and packers. VCC has attained its Free Standing Meat Plant License and is inspected by (OMAFRA) as well as the Public Health Unit. The entire facility has been professionally designed to maximize efficiency, organization, sanitation and aesthetics.

We are back, rested, and ready to tackle what we call “Heavy Season” here at Valley! 🍂

For all of our new Valley fans, here’s some helpful information about how the fall season impacts our operation.

If you didn’t already know, Valley Custom Cutting is a provincially inspected further-processing meat plant. This means we process animals from local farms for their own consumption, or for farms to legally sell their meat anywhere in Ontario.

We are also one of the largest hunted game processors in the area, all while keeping our butcher shop open, stocked, and serving our customers.

While summer is what we call our “Busy Season,” fall brings what we lovingly refer to as “Heavy Season.” 🍁

Heavy Season comes with some operational shifts as we balance farm processing, hunted game, and keeping the butcher shop running smoothly.

We’ll keep everyone posted throughout the season about what stage we are in and how it may impact our day-to-day operations.

So, what does this really mean for our butcher shop customers?

Ideally, only minor changes! We want to keep things as seamless as possible for everyone.

For same-day pickup orders, please have your order submitted before 9:00 a.m. Larger or Freezer orders may require an extra day or so.

This helps us organize the day, get your order ready, and keep things moving during one of our busiest times of the year.
