๐ŸŒพ Some people are born into farming. Others grow into it.

Farmer Ted may not have grown up on the farm, but she grew up with the farmโ€”and now it's in her blood. โค๏ธ

How else should a 16-year-old spend her evenings than wandering around the yard, checking on animals, and annoying her favourite chicken? ๐Ÿ˜†๐Ÿ”

The next generation of farmers is learning that farming isn't just a jobโ€”it's a lifestyle built on hard work, responsibility, and a love for producing good food.

Chores with a "MY do it!" child. ๐Ÿ˜†๐Ÿท

Every bucket takes a little longer, every task needs a little extra patience, and somehow the chore still gets done.

Today's mission: feed the pigs. One bucket for Mom, one bucket for the toddler, and a whole lot of determination. Watching her work so hard to help reminds us that farm life is about more than raising animalsโ€”it's about raising capable, confident kids too.

Some days the chores take twice as long, but these are the moments that make it worth it.

Do you have a "my do it" helper at home? Share their favorite chore in the comments!

Family movie night just got a little fluffier ๐Ÿฅ๐Ÿ“ผ
Snuggled on the couch with a baby chick, continuing our Harry Potter marathon the old-school wayโ€ฆ yes, itโ€™s on VHS. Thereโ€™s something special about slowing down, raising animals, and making simple family memories together.

From farm chores to cozy nights in, this is the kind of magic we live for. โœจ

This morning, Copper became the rocks in my waterfall. ๐Ÿ„๐Ÿ˜‚ Her little adventure into the barn completely changed the rhythm of my morning and forced me to move through the farm differently than I normally would.

But sometimes those unexpected moments slow us down just enough to notice the life weโ€™re building here. The fresh morning air, the quiet views, the animals, and the beauty hidden inside the chaos of farm life. ๐Ÿ‚๐Ÿ–

Not every detour is a bad thing. Sometimes itโ€™s just a different path showing you something you needed to see. ๐Ÿค

When a gate gets left open, animals tend to wander ๐Ÿ˜†

To use the gate to Coppers corner in the barn to access sections of the pasture that currently house the pigs. And last night someone forgot to lock the gate after feeding times so Copper took and adventure through the barn and made quite the mess.

I found Copper back in the opposite corner of the barn where the cows lived the first spring we had this property. That section is currently emptied and storage for feeders, water barrels and gates while we were on renovating to make more farrowing space in the barn.

Took a couple tries but we got her back to the right corner of the barn so she has her door to the pasture again.

From the house to the brooder room ๐Ÿฅ๐Ÿฆ†๐Ÿกโžก๏ธ๐Ÿšœ
The chicks and ducklings are getting SO big, it was time for a move to the barn for more room to grow! ๐Ÿ’› And with the kids helping every step of the way, it made the sweetest little farm chore. ๐Ÿ‘ง๐Ÿ‘ฆโœจ

Bonus? More space in the house for all the new babies that hatched this week! ๐Ÿฅš๐Ÿฃ Farm life never slows down around here ๐ŸŒพ๐Ÿค

Curled up on the couch with a ducklingโ€ฆ what more could a kid ask for? ๐Ÿฅ๐Ÿ’›๐Ÿ›‹๏ธ

Not gonna lie, this was part of a dream I had as a kid โ€” and now my kids get to live it out. ๐Ÿฅนโœจ

As parents, we work so hard to give our kids the things we hadโ€ฆ or wished we had growing up. We may not always be able to give them everything they ask for, but theyโ€™ll always remember the love, the moments, and the memories we could give them. ๐Ÿ’™

28ยฐC with sunshine on our backs, bare feet in the pasture, and my little sidekick on my hip while we check on the animals โ˜€๏ธ๐Ÿ“๐ŸŒฟ

These are the moments that make farm life feel rich โ€” slowing down, feeling the earth beneath our feet, and raising kids close to nature, animals, and fresh air. ๐Ÿ’›

Candling eggs allows us to check for fertility at day 1, and then monitor growth progress throughout incubation.

Some eggs take a lot of effort and end up being a guess if it is fertile or not. Other eggs, like this one are very obviously fertilized as shown by the dark spot floating around.

Can't wait to see what kind of chick is hiding in this blue egg! ๐Ÿ˜
