A clarification from Sooke Oceanside Brewery
We want to make it absolutely clear that Sooke Oceanside Brewery (S.O.B.) is NOT Sooke Brewing Company.
Sooke Oceanside Brewery has been proudly brewing in Sooke for 10 years, since opening our doors in 2016. We are a completely separate and independent brewery, with no ownership, business, or other affiliation with Sooke Brewing Company.
When Sooke Brewing Company opened 9 years ago and chose to name their business Sooke Brewing Company, we expressed our concerns that the similarity in names would create confusion between the two breweries. Unfortunately, that concern has proven to be well founded.
Since then, there has been ongoing confusion between the two businesses, and today we are seeing that confusion reach a level that requires us to make this clarification publicly.
We are aware of the recent controversy involving an individual associated with Sooke Brewing Company. That individual’s actions and statements are not those of Sooke Oceanside Brewery, nor do they represent our business, our owners, our staff, or our values.
We ask that people please ensure they are directing any comments, messages, or concerns regarding this situation to the correct business.
For 10 years, S.O.B. has been proud to be part of the Sooke community. We remain committed to our customers, our community, and to treating people with respect.
Sooke Oceanside Brewery is S.O.B. — and we are not Sooke Brewing Company.
Thank you to everyone who has supported us over the past decade.
