🎃 DEADLINE EXTENDED! 👻

We have been blown away by the response this week - we already have 3x as many houses signed up for the Treat Trail as we did last year! So thank you to our community for helping us make this years Halloween Event a HUGE success! 🍬✨

Because of the huge demand, and because we don't want anyone to miss out on the spooky fun, we are officially extending the sign-up deadline to Wednesday, October 29th for both Treat Trail entries as well as Best Decorated House Contest - where the prize has already reached over $800 and climbing!

What’s next?

On the morning of October 30th, we’ll release the official Treat Trail Map along with all of our Haunted House Contest contenders so the community can start voting for their favorites! 🏆

We will tally all the votes the morning of October 31st, and the winning family can come pick up their prize during our Halloween Event in the Blind Bay Village Grocer Parking Lot from 1pm-5pm, October 31st. During our event we will have fun games, decorations, hot dogs and pop by donation (all proceeds going to our Local Fire Fighters and First Responders - so be generous!), as well as goodie bags put together by our partners at the South Shuswap Chamber of Commerce!

Shuswap: it is time to unleash your Halloween spirit! We want to make this year’s treat trail an absolute blockbuster, bringing back that good old-school Halloween magic where kids (and kids at heart!) have so much loot, they have to make multiple trips back to their house or parents’ car just to empty their treat bags! 🚗

To do that, we need YOU! Whether you want to welcome trick-or-treaters or think you’ve got the best spooky setup in town, here is how you can get involved:

Village Grocer is excited to sponsor FREE BASKETBALL + mentorship for grades 5-8 in Tappen with Legacy North Built! 🏀

Legacy North Academy’s BUILT program welcomes beginners and experienced players to build skills, confidence and connection. No basketball experience needed!

📍Where: Carlin Elementary Middle School, Tappen
🗓 When: Thursdays (October 15, 22, 29 & November 5, 12, 19)
⏰ Time: 5:45–7:00 p.m.
💛 Six sessions, free for families! A program shirt is included and will be handed out within the first month.

Families from Tappen, Carlin, Sunnybrae, Blind Bay, Sorrento and surrounding communities are welcome. You don’t need to attend Carlin School to join!

To participate, simply pick up a colouring sheet from either of our locations, and unleash your artistic flair!

Once you've completed your masterpiece, drop it off at either location to enter the contest.

All entries will be proudly displayed in our stores until November 1st, creating a vibrant gallery of talent. The winner, drawn on October 30th, will receive a delightful goodie bag filled with treats - and maybe some tricks!
