Old 4th Hop Yard

Old 4th Hop Yard Local Hop Yard Old 4th Hop Yard is located in the historic village of Williamstown, Ontario, approximately half way between Montreal and Ottawa. Why the name?

The road that we are located on was once called the "4th Concession". There are folks who still refer to it as the "old 4th". It's a nod to the rich history of our area. We are in our 13th year of growing hops. In the first year we tried a Low Trellis System (9ft) and then converted the yard to convential trellis (18ft). We have 4 acres of hops. We are currently growing the hop varieties of Cascad

e, Hallertauer, Willamette and Tradition. These varieties grow very well in South Glengarry. Old 4th Hop Yard hops can be found in craft beer by local craft breweries such as Rurban Brewery in Cornwall.
