Hi Everyone,
Happy spring/early summer. It's been cool and very dry here, but it's finally turned green. Every year I have the same jarring response to seeing colour and growth. Winter is so very long and seems like it will never end, and then we have this frantic explosion of colour and new life for a brief time. The robins are only just returned, and I saw three cowbirds yesterday. And a few dandelions. Most of the small shrubs haven't fully leafed out yet. We've been taking advantage of the ground moisture to replace fenceposts where they are needed and fix up corrals. Wintertime is very hard on gateposts!
The cows will be going to summer pasture soon, and the sheep and lambs are loving their freedom. I'm planning for rain in June, because there's been basically none in May.
This is just a quick note to let people know that early June we will be raising prices, so if you haven't reached out, please do so. I meant to post this a couple of weeks ago but time gets away from me. We currently have a couple of openings for beef and pork in late June, and more availability for July onward. Talk to you soon!
