With the crazy weather, our raspberries are late this year. We’ve picked a bunch but we have many more that are yet to ripen. Clearly I don’t have a good raspberry picking bag. What do you use?? I need both hands lol

Our egg customers regularly donate their expired foods and snacks that are no longer appropriate for the food bank. The chickens love trying these new foods. For some reason the leg horns found these yoghurt snacks perplexing. They’ll still be gone by this evening 😂

Right back to his mommy 🫩

This little buckling is old enough to be in the boy’s pen, so we’ve been giving him some time each day to be with them. Today he somehow made it back to his mom. Now I see how easy it was for him to hop the fence.

I don’t want him breeding his mom or any other goat now that he’s old enough. So I’ll have to figure out what to do. All of our fencing is 4 feet tall which I know can be an issue for nimble goats and ones that are agile like this guy. This presents a new challenge!

Baby goating is exhausting. Miss Birdie lost her baby in May, so we helped her adopt two little bucklings. They are loving life, and have so much fun exploring the farm. But now this kid needs a nap 😴

Every few weeks we get food from a local grocery store that’s no longer good for human consumption, but completely fine for livestock.

The chickens tend to be fussy with things that don’t look like real food. I probably need to be more fussy too.

Other than these particular donuts, our livestock and chickens go crazy over the fruits and vegetables, bakery, and other grocery items that the Loop Program provides. Loop - Rescue Food, Rescue the Planet Every little bit helps offset costs of feed.

Egg-citing to see that our newest hens are starting to lay eggs! They’re smaller when they first start laying, and the eggs get bigger with time. Makes sense.
