I’m slowing down cakes for a little while as we begin building our new home. 🏡✨

But when one of my dearest friends is celebrating her birthday, you’d better believe I’m pulling out my turntable. 🍰

She’s my biggest cake fan, my cheerleader, the one who’ll call me up for a two-day sleepover during a snowstorm with all our children, lie in the sun for hours, take long walks through the forest, listen to my heart’s story, and share this beautiful season of life with our kindred-spirit children. 🤍

So this one felt extra special.

My daughter helped with the decorating, which is always such a treat — a gentle reminder to focus less on perfection and more on love.

✨ She asked for a fairy cake… so I made an enchanted forest. 🧚‍♀️🍄🌿

This custom birthday cake was a labor of love from start to finish.
Two tiers of vanilla cake (6” + 4”), covered in buttercream and decorated with handmade fairy details, woodland mushrooms, florals, moss, and a tiny fairy door hidden in the tree trunk. With Tinkerbell tucked inside. Naturally.

I wanted this cake to feel like stepping straight into Tinker Bell’s world—soft pinks (the birthday girl’s favourite colour), magical gold fairies, and all the tiny details that make childhood feel magical.

Sometimes it’s the smallest details that end up being everyone’s favorite part. Mine? Definitely the little fairy door. ✨

When you are a cake artist and your sweet tart turns four it calls for an extra special cake. His request was an airplane camping cake with a jello lake.

Of course I had to make something that attempts to celebrate how wonderful he is. He makes us laugh, is full of energy, and the sweetest brother.
