No greens yet but I will be at the Market with organic beef from Stew and Mari. In addition, I will have a petition I encourage you to sign. It asks the Government of Canada to reverse the planned closures and staff layoffs at important Ag Canada Research Centres. Lots of goodies from others at the Market on Saturday.

The St. Marys Farmers' Market is open Saturday morning. I will be there (or they will be there) with Stew and Mari's farm-raised organic beef and veal. Lots of other goodies as well. The next indoor pop-up market will be on April 4 and then we will be back outside on May 2.

Our Apple Pie Day is at this week's market on Saturday, Oct. 4!

If you're entering pies, please DM us so we have enough space for all the entries! Label your pie with your name, apple variety and if it meets any dietary restrictions/allergies (such as being gluten free).

Slice sale begins at 8:45 a.m., and the pie auction begins at 10 a.m. Forks and plates provided.

A fun way to support the Farmers' Market. Bake a pie or two, bid on a pie or just eat some pie. I might just bake a pie or two, even though I am not much of a pie baker.

🍎Are you in the upper crust of pie bakers? Show off your skills in our Apple Pie Day sale and auction on Saturday, Oct. 4 at the market!

🍏Read the official regulations at the link below, then pick up your pie plates - and your apples - at the Market this Saturday, Sept. 27 and GET BAKING!

🍎Pie eaters also wanted! Buy a slice or bid on a whole pie on Saturday, Oct. 4 in support of your farmers' market!

I always like to show a photo of a tomato hornworm full of cocoons from a parasitic wasp, when I see the first one of the season. If you see a tomato hornworm which looks like this, leave it be. This is nature's way of controlling hornworms. A tiny parasitic wasp lays its eggs in the hornworm. When the eggs hatch, the larva eat the insides of the hornworm and then form the cocoons in the photo, from which adult wasps emerge to lay new eggs in hornworms.
