Blanbrook Bison Farm Locally grown, nutritious, natural bison meat. Also bison leather hides, horns, skulls, and robes. Bison meat is a delicious and nutritious red meat.

Established in May of 1992 with 13 bison, Blanbrook Bison Farm has grown to a herd of approximately 100 head. We are a family run operation by Bruce and Shirley Mills and their two children. We sell directly from the farm and at the Covent Garden Outdoor Farmers Market Saturday mornings from 8:00am to 1:00pm from May to late December. Please call before you come to the farm and if you intend on ma

king a larger order for the market, please contact us before 7pm on the Friday night. It is low in fat, cholesterol and calories and high in iron. No growth hormones are used on the bison. For inquires and price lists, please call or email us with the subject 'bison inquiry'.

A quick week night dinner starts with a package of ground bison meat.

Pan fried ground bison with onions, sheet pan roasted veggies (sweet potato, broccoli, red pepper), soft boiled egg and rice.
Toss the ground meat in a mixture of soya sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, ginger and garlic for the last few minutes of searing. Top with fresh chives and sesame seeds.

Today was our annual round up. It is the herd's health check in for the year. The bison go through our handling system which keeps the animals and us safe during the process.

All animals including the cows, calves, heifers and bulls, are weighed and calves are tagged for ID purposes. Our breeder bull, pictured here, weighed in at 2300 lbs! In total, our crew of 5 handled over 80 bison today.
