A few shots of calving so far this year. A few weeks earlier than we usually start and a little colder.

Three healthy bouncy calves and one that we missed and one that didn’t make it. I would say this one was farmer error 😬 tried to revive him but he didn’t recover from being too cold.

Now we have a calf with two doting moms. She should be extra fat in fall 🤣

Video is the first time I worked with Ginger in the round pen, after about 15 min.

About the Sire: LB Smokin Jack
Ginger is by our ranch’s own stud, LB Smokin Jack, son of the impressive Ill Smoke Ya (AQHA #3385446) — a Canadian-bred Champion Stallion who earned AQHA Champion status and Canadian National titles in halter and rope-horse competition. Ill Smoke Ya’s offspring are known for their versatility, structure and presence — the kind of traits that hold up in roping, performance and ranch work. With LB Smokin Jack as her sire, Ginger inherits that performance-rich sire line, athletic frame and trainable mind. It’s a pedigree that says “built for purpose”.

About the Dam: BK Haida Diamond
Ginger’s dam is our home-raised mare, ‎BK Haida Diamond — a gray mare whose temperament is as reliable as her production. She’s the easiest mare in the herd to chatch and she handled foaling with ease. Her sire is Haidalenas War Doc — a Texas-foaled 1996 stallion who sired over 230 foals and whose progeny have competed at the CFR and NFR in team roping and barrel racing.

That combination of performance bloodlines and real-world broodmare reliability gives Ginger the best of both worlds: a mare that’s built to perform and easy to live with.

Good for a Beginner to intermediate rider but She’s a big powerful mare so probably a bigger kid/teen. Or she Could make a great husband horse 😉

This mare has been there and done that. She was ridden on community pasture for the summer when she was younger. I rode her in barrel racing. Not a 1D Barrel horse but consistent and reliable. She doesnt want to run away with you but she moves. She has a great power walk and long trot. Strong and poweful mare. Id keep her but shes a bit big for our kids to handle (6 &8).

She was out on pasture for 3 years and i got on her the other day and it was like nothing changed.

Will need some mainteance to keep her joints moving. She’s an easy keeper.

Up to date on vaccinations, deworming, trimming. Easy to catch and load.

If you can think of it we’ve probably tried it with her. Penning, goat tying, flags, trails, roping.

Just looking at all these pics of Jackie makes me want to keep her but she’s just not what we need at the moment.

BK ILL BUCK YA (Sid) 2025 palomino stud c**t.
Located near Steinbach, Manitoba

Bred to live in a roping pen, ride community pasture, work on a ranch or compete in the rodeo pen.

He was handled a bit as a baby, he’s been on pasture since learning the herd dynamics. Even with minimal handling he’s quiet and easy to approach. I can give him a scratch even in the middle of the wide open pasture.

Bk War Baron - 2025 Bay Stud C**t

Haidalenas War Doc on the mares side.

This c**t is bred for the rodeo arena. Make a rope horse out of him, barrel horse or ranch horse. Haidalenas War Doc has offspring that have gone on to the NFR roping pen. I’ll Smoke Ya is an AQHA champion in halter and performance and a Canadian national champion rope horse.

Had a halter on the firs few days after he was born. Has been on pasture since.

Boost your lawn/garden for May long weekend! Horse and cattle manure Composted between 2-5 years. Most of it at least 3 years of composting.

Sold by the tractor bucket load (See picture).
Pick up with truck or trailer. We can load.
This will make great garden or lawn soil.
There may be some stones, sticks and straw in it.

This is super nutrient rich soil with tons of organic matter. We spread it on our yard to grow our lawn 3 years ago. You can see the picture of our lawn now. We didn’t use any fertilizer or herbicide. Just seeded it and mowed it. There were weeds the first year but after mowing for a season it turned out beautifully.

$40 a bucket load. 2 bucket loads fit on a truck box.
