This is my first time as a vendor in Fall River at the market. I am very excited, but also a bit nervous. It’s always a gamble with your first market deciding how many flowers to bring. You don’t want to sell out too early, but you don’t want valuable crops going unsold either.

I am sharing in hopes that you will head on down to the market this Saturday and visit our tent. I’ll have fragrant scented stock and lilacs, the last of our tulips, as well as the first of our peonies, ranunculus, lupins and more. In celebration of my late sister’s birthday I also brought in some gorgeous roses (her birth flower) to tuck into some very special bouquets. 💐

Wedding season has begun, and while I do not consider myself to be a florist so much as a flower farmer, I do take on a limited number of weddings each season. I offer a limited menu of florals including hand tied bouquets, wrist corsages and boutonnières. While I do not create arch pieces or table decor, we do offer bulk buckets of blooms and wholesale stems for DIY.

Wedding work for me is more of a passion project than a main product offering and I am the right fit for a couple looking for simple florals in a loose or round handtied style, with some flexibility as to varieties of flowers with a focus on in-season, local blooms who are comfortable with primarily email communication and pick up here at the farm. I am also always up front in what I can offer within a couple’s budget. There is almost always room to work within a budget as long as there is flexibility in the size of the pieces and the varieties of flowers used. For couples looking for a more individualized experience, frequent communication and in person meetings, and/or more complicated design I wholeheartedly believe that a full service florist is the right choice for them and I would happily recommend many who do amazing work and provide excellent customer service.

A huge Thank You to for making the first bunch of stunning blush butterfly ranunculus of the season available for this wedding which was just enough to add that extra special touch to the bridal bouquet. 🩷

POP UP TIME CHANGE

Please note that we have had to adjust our Bedford pop up time for Saturday, May 9th. We will be on site 9am to noon (unless we sell out sooner). Sunday hours remain 10 am to 2 pm.

We will have farm fresh specialty tulip bunches for $20 as well as mixed bouquets ($40 option and $60 option). We will also have gift certificates available which may be used at the farmstand, Upick and any of our markets/pop-ups. And if you haven’t signed up for a bouquet subscription yet for this season we will also have subscription gift vouchers.

We will be out front unless the weather forces inside. Either way, we will be there rain or shine!

So, I’ve been meaning all week to post an About Me reel or carousel of photos. Something fun and catchy to introduce myself to new followers (thanks for following my flower journey!). But, in reality the only thing I have time for this week is farm work and Mother’s Day preparations. So here’s a simple post instead:

Hi! My name is Lorraine and I am so glad you are here! For those who are new here, I am a mom of three pre-teen/teens, a little (okay maybe a lot) ADHD (which is a-okay) and I love growing ALL the flowers! Four years ago my husband left the military and we moved our family back to Nova Scotia to be near family and follow my dream of opening a flower farm. We drove from Ontario with a van full of seedlings and (I’d like to think) manifested this property which has become our forever home where we have figuratively and literally planted roots.

I love documentaries, true crime and dramatic television shows. I am MUCH closer to 50 now than 40 (yay perimenopause!). I love to eat sushi and trying new foods. Cruising is our favourite way to vacation as a family. My worst habit is interrupting people when speaking (thank you adhd and anxiety brain). And as my husband likes to remind me every now and then, the flower farm is not my hobby but a business and career. I am so lucky to pursue my passion to contribute financially to our household.

I run the farm with minimal infrastructure and ample amounts of blood, sweat and tears (and some hard working helpers and volunteers). I absolutely love seeing new faces at markets and the farm, as well as all of our loyal repeat customers who have made all of this possible. 2026 is going to be an amazing season and I hope you will follow along and visit us at one of our markets, pop ups, the farmstand or upick.

Buckets include a mix of at least 50-60 stems in your chosen colour palette based on what is blooming at that time. Your flowers will be carefully harvested and conditioned in our cooler for peak freshness.

🌷🌷🌷 MOTHER’S DAY AT THE FARM EVENT 🌷🌷🌷

Visit us at the farm Sunday, May 10th, between 10 am and 3pm for our Mother’s Day at the Farm event! We’ll have a tulip bloom bar stocked with the most gorgeous specialty tulips for mom to create her own personal bouquet (15 stems for $30, additional tulip stems available for $2/stem).

Our daughter will have her display setup for you to purchase from her cookie bar with hot and cold beverage options as well.

Weather permitting, we will be running hourly walking tours of the farm where you will see our tulip production, spring crop plantings, summer field preparations and a peek inside our seedling shed and flower cooler.

January disappeared in the blink of an eye. After an amazing week away with my husband, flight cancellations had us returning later than expected and to top it off, I lost half a molar when an old filling cracked off my tooth at the airport (ouch!). I arrived home excited to get to work starting seeds and replying to emails when the school called to pick up our youngest and within 24 hours she was back in hospital where I stayed with her throughout her admission. Thankfully, she is now back home and we are settling back into a routine.

That being said, I have gotten caught up on farm tasks over the past couple of days to get back on schedule. Now I will attack replying to outstanding emails and messages. My apologies for the delay to anyone waiting for a reply. I am so appreciative of everyone’s understanding during this time, allowing me to focus on being there for our daughter and tending to her needs while also juggling our other children’s schedules and commitments. I am very much looking forward to our household getting back into a routine this month.

That being said, I am SO excited for the upcoming season! I feel amazing about the line up of flowers for this growing season as well as preparing space for adding more perennials for future years. Over the coming days I will share plans for our UPick and farmstand this season. 2026 Subscriptions are already available for purchase on the website and promise to be our most beautiful bouquets yet with some special varieties being grown exclusively for subscribers. Subscriptions make the perfect Valentine’s Day gift and we have certificates for gifting available.

Very soon the spring thaw will come and thousands of tulips will pop up. I will soon have details on how you will be able to get your hands on some these stunning specialty varieties!

It’s been a bit quiet around here. After illness swept through the house in late November/early December, we were able to enjoy a brief reprieve for Christmas before our youngest ended up in hospital for several nights (how we rung in the New Year!). Thankfully, everyone is well now and I am looking forward to an amazing 2026! But first, hubby and I are headed away for a week for our first vacation just the two of us in 17 years and I will celebrate my birthday 🥳

I managed to get all of my seeds and plants for the season ordered beforehand and I can’t wait to share all of the amazing blooms and plans for this season when I return. Thank you to all of you who have already purchased a subscription for the 2026 season—I am looking forward to making it the best season yet!
