๐ธโจ Cheers to three years of flower farming! As the new season approaches, I find myself reflecting on the beginning of this beautiful journey. For those who donโt know, moving away from home to Saskatchewan was tough for me, but the flowers brought light to a dark time. Theyโve taught me resilience, joy, and the power of growth.
To celebrate year 3๏ธโฃ here are 10 mental health benefits of growing flowers:
1. Stress Relief: Growing flowers can reduce stress levels and help you relax. Being outside and connecting with nature is very calming.
2. Improved Mood: Spending time in a vibrant environment filled with colors and scents can boost mood and make you feel happy.
3. Mindfulness: Gardening flowers encourages mindfulness and focusing on the present moment. A flower doesnโt last for a long time so you have to enjoy the blooms when they are here.
4. Sense of Accomplishment: Watching flowers bloom after all your hard work taking care of them gives you a sense of achievement. Be proud of your beautiful garden!
5. Physical Activity: Gardening involves lots of exercise, which can release endorphins.
6. Creativity: Designing flower arrangements and planning garden layouts helps you be creative, which can be therapeutic.
7. Social Connection: Gardening can lead you to connecting with other gardeners and a community of people who share the same interests. Who doesnโt love talking about flowers?
8. Routine: Caring for plants requires regular attention, providing structure to the day and a sense of purpose.
9. Connection to Nature: Being in nature has been linked to improved mental health, it helps ground you and can lead to peace and tranquility.
10. Learning and Growth: Gardening is a process of learning about different plants and their needs. Every step of the way takes some trial and error. Getting your hands dirty is the only way to learn to garden and to grow as a gardener!
Hereโs to blooming where youโre planted! ๐ผ๐
