🍷 If you’re on the fence about coming, or simply curious about Grüner Veltliner, this one’s for you.

Today I sat down with Blair to chat about our upcoming Grüner Veltliner Tasting Night at Observatory Wines.

We talked about what makes this grape so special, how Blair first became interested in it, why we’re tasting five different wines, and what guests can expect from the evening.

Now, I’ll be honest… I’m usually a full-bodied red wine kind of girl. 😄 But after spending time learning more about Grüner Veltliner, it has definitely become one of my favourites.

So grab a glass of wine, sit back, and enjoy the conversation.

What an inspiring afternoon at the Women in Wine event hosted by Dirty Laundry Vineyard & Winery. 🍷

The event brought together passionate women from across the wine industry to connect, share experiences, and celebrate the people behind Canadian wine.

One of the highlights was meeting Augusta Van Muyen, Ontario’s 67th Grape King, and learning more about the dedication, leadership, and hard work that goes into grape growing and winemaking across our country.

A special thank you to Blair for the opportunity to attend and represent Observatory Wines. Experiences like these deepen our appreciation for the wine community and the incredible people who make it thrive.

Thank you to Dirty Laundry for hosting such a memorable event and creating a space for learning, connection, and celebration.

Two Crows for Comfort — coming to Observatory Wines on July 6th — have opened for Bruce Cockburn and Ani DiFranco.

Like… WHAT?! 🤯

And we get them right here in Summerland for their only Okanagan stop this summer.

As if that’s not enough, we’ll also be celebrating a very special birthday for Marilyn Gillingham, making this evening even more memorable. 🎉

Over the years, Blair has become known for championing unique grape varieties and wine styles, with Grüner Veltliner becoming a special focus at Observatory Wines. This evening is an opportunity to learn more about the grape, its origins, and why it continues to inspire Blair as a winemaker.

Together, we’ll explore all things Grüner Veltliner—where it comes from, how it expresses itself in different regions, and why it has become such an important focus at Observatory Wines.

Guests are welcome to bring their hot dogs to the tables to ensure the event commences on time.

Mingle and purchase after the tasting is complete.
