Hello to all our dear customers-
It’s been a challenging few weeks, and we’ve been very busy making a lot of changes to be able to pack boxes again.
We’ve lost a lot of cold storage and access to our packing house. But we are attempting to make it all work at the store location next week!
We are offering two sizes of boxes, Farmer’s Choice, as a way to get our harvest to happy, deserving mouths!
There are a few add ons available as well.

WE DID IT... We reached our Goal and a little more! 🌟

Thank You for Supporting The Harvest. 🥬

The generosity we have seen these past few weeks has been immeasurable. We are beyond grateful and beyond words.

The Summerland Sauce Project helped us save over 4, 000 lbs of veggies and raised over $20,000 to support farmers in Summerland! Now that is pretty incredible.

Thank you to for your vision and over 60 hours of cooking to make 910 litres of sauce. Thank you to Farmer Tom for getting a permit to go into the fire zone in Garnet Valley and solo-harvest hundreds of lbs from our farm. Thank you to the many other farmers who supplied veggies and harvested in the thick smoke. To .okn for making a batch of sauce. To our incredible staff at LocalMotive for welcoming visitors to the store while you were still evacuated and for embracing the project with very little time to prepare.

This is community, an incredible community❤️

Celina’s beautiful flower garden not only survived the fires…. They are flourishing. 😊
Harvesting and storing are challenging right now, but Celina did a big harvest yesterday and they are at our LocalMotive Low Waste Market in Penticton at the Apple plaza.

We are getting special permits to harvest on select days.
Even with a full crew, we have a hard time doing everything we need to in a limited amount of time we’ve been allotted.
Hopefully restrictions can lift as the days go by and we can spend more time picking, irrigating, weeding and taking stock of all which we’ve lost during the fire.
For now all harvests are coming straight to our store, as our packshed was compromised in the fire.
Cold storage is very limited here but we are making it work!

Five days in, and we’ve reached the halfway mark with $10,000 raised. We are incredibly grateful. ❤️

A huge thank you to everyone who has donated, purchased a jar, shared our campaign or helped spread the word. Every bit of support is helping us buy surplus crops and support local farmers through an incredibly difficult season.

Today, three chefs are in the kitchen making even more Summerland Sauce from the local harvest.

The wildfires have hit our farming community hard. Road closures, cancelled markets and fewer visitors have left local farmers with beautiful crops ready to harvest, but fewer places to sell them.

We can’t replace everything that has been lost. But we can help save what is still here.

Spearheaded by Chef Ned Bell and Farmer Thomas Tumbach of LocalMotive Farmers Network Cooperative, we’re gathering available Okanagan produce and turning it into a delicious, locally made sauce.

Every jar helps purchase crops from affected farmers, keeps good food from going to waste and supports our community through an incredibly difficult season.
