Lightning Rock is proud to be providing w**e for An A+ Evening, Chefs in the Classroom’s fundraising dinner at Humo Kelowna.

The evening brings together five Okanagan chefs for a five-course dinner, with Summerland w**e pairings, welcome bubbles, and a silent auction.

Proceeds support hands-on food education for Okanagan Grade 3 students, helping children learn to grow food, cook, and discover where their food comes from.

The pace changes, the vineyards change colour, there’s plenty happening behind the scenes, and there’s a little more time to slow down over a tasting.

October is W**e Club pickup month at Lightning Rock, and we love seeing members come through the door to collect their w**es.

But don’t just grab the box and run.

Thanksgiving weekend in the Okanagan.

If you’re spending the long weekend in Summerland, come see us at Lightning Rock.

We’ll be open 11–5 throughout Thanksgiving weekend for tastings, W**e Club pickups and, of course, a few bottles for Thanksgiving dinner.

It’s been quite a year around here, so we’re especially thankful for everyone who has walked through our doors, ordered our w**es, joined the club and supported our little w**ery.

Bring your family. Bring your friends. Come taste some w**e.

And if you’ve been thinking about joining the Lightning Rock W**e Club, ask us about it while you’re here. There’s no better way to decide than tasting the w**es first.

A little change of plans…

We’ve had such a great September, and so many of you are still coming through the doors, that we’ve decided we’re not quite ready to call it a season.

Lightning Rock will now be open through October 31.

That means a few more weeks to come up to Summerland, taste through the w**es, enjoy the fall views and stock up before we move into our quieter winter season.

And for our W**e Club members, October is also pickup month. Come grab your w**es, stay for a tasting and enjoy a little fall at Lightning Rock.

Not a W**e Club member yet? This is actually a pretty good time to ask us about it. Come taste, find the w**es you love and see whether one of our clubs is right for you.

I thought I’d give everyone a quick update from the w**ery.

This has certainly not been the harvest we expected. After losing our Summerland crop because of the Bald Range wildfire, we’ve had to adapt quickly, find fruit elsewhere in the Okanagan and keep moving.

There have been some very long days around here, but we’re making w**e and moving forward.

Thank you to everyone who has stopped in, ordered w**e, sent us a note or simply followed along. That support matters more in a year like this than you probably realize.

We’re open in Summerland daily 11-5 , so come by and see us if you’re in the neighbourhood.

Does w**e sometimes feel more complicated than it needs to be?

A recent conversation with w**e writer Julian Park and his wife Judy got us thinking about something pretty simple.

W**e shouldn't feel like a test.

You don't need to identify graphite, forest floor or brioche. You don't need to know the clone, the fermentation method or the vintage conditions.

Sometimes the only question that matters is:

Do you like it?

Fall is definitely in the air at Lightning Rock.

And harvest is keeping us busy.

Today we’re processing Viognier for sparkling w**e, so if you stop by for a tasting, you might get a little glimpse behind the scenes at what actually happens around here during harvest.

That’s one of our favourite things about this time of year. W**e is being made just a few steps away while you’re tasting it.

The lawn is still green, the views are beautiful, and there is lots happening at the w**ery.

We’re open today and every day from 11–5 through Thanksgiving.
