We just got 50 baby turkeys, and they are now 3 days old! 🦃
There is something so special about watching these little ones explore their new home for the first time. Tiny peeps, fluffy feathers, and curious little personalities already showing through.

The brooder is warm, the feed is full, and they are settling in nicely. It’s always a big commitment bringing in new livestock, but also one of the most rewarding parts of farm life. Watching them grow over the next few months will be an exciting journey.

For now, they spend their days eating, sleeping, peeping, and running around under the heat lamps. Hard to believe these tiny fluff balls will someday become full-grown turkeys!

This morning reminded me why I love farm life so much.
A beautiful fox quietly watching from the edge of the field, wild turkeys wandering through the frosty grass, and the sun rising over the farm with that peaceful golden light only country mornings can bring.

These are the moments that make all the hard work worth it. Nature waking up around us, the stillness of the land, and the feeling of gratitude for another day on the farm. ❤️🌾🦊

Some mornings feed the soul more than words ever can.

Welcoming Carimoo’s calf, number 2. 💙 Another beautiful little blessing has arrived at the farm. There is nothing better than seeing healthy calves and proud mommas this time of year. Spring on the farm truly is a season of new life and gratitude. 🐄🌱

Baby chicks have arrived all 300 of them.. we are trying some new heat lamps. Impressed so far.

The barn swallows are back at Whisper Pines Farm & Garden, and we couldn’t be happier to see them return to our barn. Their graceful flight and cheerful chatter are a true sign that spring has arrived.

Did you know that having barn swallows nearby is a sign of a healthy ecosystem? These beautiful birds play an important role in controlling insect populations and are a treasured part of rural life.

Sadly, barn swallow populations have declined significantly over the years. In Ontario, they are now considered an endangered species. This decline is largely due to the loss of suitable nesting sites as old barns and structures disappear, along with a decrease in flying insect populations caused by pesticide use and changing environmental conditions.

Their return each season is something we never take for granted.

We feel grateful to share our space with them and to be part of a landscape that supports their journey. Welcome back, little ones — your presence is a gift. 🌾🕊️

It’s such a beautiful morning—the birds are chirping, the cows and calves are resting peacefully on the hay bales, and wild turkeys can be seen in the distance.
