We went to Grizzly Cafe for Suhoor. It’s served from Friday night/Saturday morning and Saturday night/Sunday morning from 12 AM until 3 PM.

We ordered an omelette, falafels, hummus, pita bread, olives, banana peppers, pita bread, and tea. Everything tasted great.

• Iftar Buffet (weekday) for $22

We went to Taste of Lahore last Wednesday to try out their iftar buffet. This restaurant never disappoints. We made prior reservations. We were fortunate to go at the time they were serving gulab jamons for dessert. That was a huge win!

The food tasted great! Fresh and delicious. The fish pakoras were one of my favorites. They had a good selection of dishes to choose from. The boneless chicken karahi tasted great. They refilled the tea a couple of times, though I would recommend that they used a larger container, the one they use on their normal weekend brunch buffet.

🚨 New Restaurant: Heavenly Desserts 🚨

What was ordered:
• passionfruit mojito
• cookie blast milkshake
• shakshuka
• breakfast flatbread
• brownie explosion
• mini white chocolate & raspberry tarts

We were invited to check out the newly open Heavenly Desserts located in South Surrey a couple of weeks ago. The restaurant was quite clean and service was top notch. Our server Maggie was very helpful and polite. There’s a good amount of seating and also a hall/event space available.

The breakfast flatbread was very filling. Poached eggs on a toasted focaccia bread with veggies, cheese and salsa. It was delicious. Heavy and filling.

Shakshuka - it came with toasted sourdough pieces. Mild in spice but still tasty.

The cookieblast milkshake was delicious. Cookies and cream gelato with Oreo pieces. It was a win. I preferred that more than the passionfruit drink.

For dessert, the brownie explosion 💥 was awesome. A soft brownie with a scoop of cookies and cream gelato and a scoop of cocoa hazelnut gelato. It was melt in your mouth satisfying. The raspberry tarts tasted good.

Everything was complimentary. This did not affect our views or opinions. We believe in being transparent and providing our community with real reviews.

We thank the owners for their generosity and pray for their success in this new business venture. May Allah SWT reward them for providing our community more halal food options.

We were invited to check out the new location for Tayybeh restaurant. They were quite busy, but the quality and food didn’t take a hit. Everything was delicious!
We ordered:
• cheese and beef samboosak
• chicken shawarma wrap
• mixed grill plate
• halawet el jebn
• esh el bolbol
• choco shadia
• fizzy farah

Service was great and the food tasted excellent. What a vibe!

Halal Eats Vancouver - FYI: La Cocina Tortilla Chips and Tortilla

✅Halal

The Halal Eats Admin team had sent an email inquiry to La Cocina company on whether their products were Halal or Kosher friendly. While they made no claim of being Halal or Kosher as they could not provide any Halal certification, they did mention that there were no animal products or ingredients used for making their tortilla chips or corn tortillas. The enzymes used are plant derived. Please see the screenshot of the email for further proof. We appreciate the company for being transparent and answering our questions. JazakAllah khairan.

🚨 First time review! New restaurant serving halal food! 🚨

Restaurant #202: Pakka Local Indian Cuisine

• Kaddu ka kheer
• Gulab jamun

• Rooh-E-Hyderabad
• Saudi champagne

The Halal Eats Admin team were invited to newly opened Pakka Local Indian Cuisine restaurant located in Surrey. All meats are supplied by 2-Sisters halal division. The restaurant is owned by the same people that run the Dhamaka restaurant in Vancouver. They specialize in Hyderabadi, Mughlai, and Telugu cuisines. All food ordered was complimentary.

The dynamite chicken was absolutely delicious. It was spicy and packed with flavour. Definitely a must try. The Haleem and the zafrani chicken were much mild compared to the other dishes but also tasted really good.

For dessert we had Shahi tukra with rabiri. It wasn’t my kind of dessert. The surprise of the day was just how good the khaddu ka kheer was. I’m normally not a fan of khaddu but this kheer was top notch. One of the best I’ve had in town. A must try. The Gulab jamons were also delicious.

The mocktail drinks were also very unique and thirst quenching. The rooh e Hyderabad a hint of lychee juice, rose syrup, lemon, mixed with sprite. The Saudi champagne had more of a citrus sweet taste. It’s hard to decide which one I liked more.

Please note that alcohol is served at the restaurant.
