Throwback to when I was planting some sweet corn earlier this year with my Earthway Seeder from .

No guarantees on whether or not we will have some for sale this year, it already failed once and the second crop isn't looking the best, but even with the poor weather this season we still look forward to providing our local community with fresh sustainably raised produce..... it's just going to be a bit later than expected 🙂

Throwback to this picture of a thick blocky "Fat n' Sassy" green bell pepper from . Although it was taken last year, we will still have amazing produce like this for sale coming soon. Due to the weather and multiple unforeseen circumstances our products will be available later in the season, as compared to last year. We working hard to have everything up and ready as soon as possible but we are currently anticipating an open date sometime in the middle to late August. Thank you to everyone for your patience and I hope that we will see you out in the fields soon.

Planted in November 2023, our garlic is just about a month away from harvest! 🧄 After a careful curing process, it will be ready to join our selection of fresh, local produce. Thought that I needed to add some colour to the feed. Everything is so green, and yes green is a nice colour especially on a farm but sometimes you need something to catch your eye, something that you haven't seen anywhere else.

At Lally Farms that is exactly what we try to do. We work hard to grow produce that you can't find anywhere else because of our product's superior quality, colours, taste, freshness and varieties.

Garlic

Kind of the looks like a mess... but let's just say that it's a beautiful mess because, at the end of the day, it just means that the garlic is getting closer to harvest.
It still has to produce scapes, and when it does we will have lots of those available for sale. Let me know if you're interested!

All seeds have been grown in an organic soil mix with added organic fertilizers and worm castings to keep them healthy and strong. I have been growing plants for the past 4 years for our farm and we are now expanding into selling our plants to customers too.

Prices are as marked below
1-9 plants = $4/each
10-15 plants = $3.50/each
16 plants = $55/total or $3.44/each
32 plants = $100/total or $3.12/each

Round Beefsteak Tomatoes:
-Early Girl (Indeterminate, Early medium-sized round red tomatoes)
-Big Beef (Indeterminate, Hybrid Italian Beefsteak)
-Premio (Indeterminate, Medium red round with good shelf-life)

Round Beefsteak Heirloom Tomatoes:
-Red Zebra (Indeterminate, Medium sized red round tomatoes with golden stripes and complex flavour)
-Brandywine Red (Indeterminate, Large heirloom tomato with excellent flavour)

Roma Tomatoes:
-Roma VF (Determinate, High yielding standard ling red blocky pear-shaped Roma tomatoes)

Cherry Tomatoes:
-Sweet Million (Indeterminate, Early maturing with sweet round standard cherry tomatoes)
-Sugary (Semi-determinate, All-year high yielding plant with sweet grape tomatoes)

I Love Garlic

Although it may be unconventional, it is defiantly one of my favourite vegetables and I add it to almost anything that I cook. For years now I have always known that whenever a recipe calls for a certain amount of garlic cloves, it is always best to double or even triple that. I always thought that it was odd that there never seemed to be enough garlic flavour in the final dish until I started to use the fresh garlic that I grew myself. Not only was it a lot stronger than the garlic that I used to buy from the store, but it also had much more of a complex flavour that worked better to complement the other tastes rather than cover them up.
The only thing that I hate about garlic is how long it takes to peel, but with most of the varieties of garlic that I grow, the cloves are much larger meaning that I don't have to peel as much and even then it tends to be much easier to peel due to its freshness.

Garlic tangent aside, at Lally Farms we grow 6 different types of garlic including Russian, Persian and Italian. With a wide variety of flavours, our fresh garlic is sure to beat the taste of anything that you could buy from the grocery store (much of which comes from across the world and may already be a year old). It is also grown using Organic methods and practices without the use of any pesticides or herbicides.

At Lally Farms we are excited to announce that we will now be selling vegetable and flower seedlings!!!

All of our seedlings are grown in an organic OMRI-Listed media and contain all-natural organic amendments to keep your seedlings strong and healthy while they grow. We offer a wide variety of heirloom, round, roma and cherry tomato plants as well as multiple types of bell peppers, hot peppers, eggplants and a limited amount of flowers.

These plants will be available to purchase soon in the next coming months, but if you contact us today we can have you down on our waiting list and you will be among the first to know as soon as they become available. Specific varieties, quantities and pricing will be updated soon.
