My bucket is full.

Lots of good things this week.

Great weather to work outside in.
The feeling of the warm air in the evening.
Cow birds on goats.
Thoughtful, heart-centred conversations.
A great farm crew vibe.
A body that can do the work.
Scent of the cherry laurel bush in the evening.
Buckets of flowers again.

Erin who captured 📸 our spring flower season this year. 🙏🏽

You are starting to ask about when the veggies will be ready so I thought I’d put together this little guide about when our vegetables are in season.

It’s no wonder it’s hard to track the seasonality of local food when you can go to the grocery store and get strawberries in January and asparagus in September.

I know you are eager to get local food again at our market, our roadside stand and through our CSA boxes - it won’t be long now (but it’s still a bit of a wait).

It’s time to order your Mother’s Day flowers. It’s been such a treat to grow into being able to offer these early season bouquets for a special occasion like this. You can order a stand alone bouquet for Mother’s Day or add it to a Summer flower subscription for a gift that keeps giving. Thank you Lorna for this photo from last years bouquets.

We will have tomato plants, hanging basket cherry tomato plants, assorted veggie starts, potted dahlias, dahlia tubers, perennial flowers, herbs.

We are launching our CSA membership and are doing it a bit different this year.

Get our veggies delivered to your neighbourhood weekly.

By purchasing your CSA membership in our preseason you are enabling the work of our small farm to continue to operate in the long months of seeding and preparing before the harvest actually gets going. This is a model that many small farms have used for years.

Find out more with the link in our bio.

“When a great ship is in harbor and moored, it is safe, there can be no doubt. But that is not what great ships are built for. Ours is not the task of fixing the entire world all at once, but of stretching out to mend the part of the world that is within our reach. Any small, calm thing that one soul can do to help another soul, to assist some portion of this poor suffering world, will help immensely. It is not given to us to know which acts or by whom, will cause the critical mass to tip toward an enduring good. What is needed for dramatic change is an accumulation of acts, adding, adding to, adding more, continuing. We know that it does not take everyone on Earth to bring justice and peace, but only a small, determined group who will not give up during the first, second, or hundredth gale.
One of the most calming and powerful actions you can do to intervene in a stormy world is to stand up and show your soul. Soul on deck shines like gold in dark times. The light of the soul throws sparks, can send up flares, builds signal fires, causes proper matters to catch fire. To display the lantern of soul in shadowy times like these — to be fierce and to show mercy toward others; both are acts of immense bravery and greatest necessity. Struggling souls catch light from other souls who are fully lit and willing to show it. If you would help to calm the tumult, this is one of the strongest things you can do.”
