Donia Farms Donia Farms is a local family run dairy farm that has been producing quality milk in Surrey, BC since 1955.

Donia Farms is in its third generation...with a fourth on the way! The Van Keulen family lives and works with every aspect of the farm daily. The main goal of the dairy is to supply quality milk for the province of British Columbia. With that comes calf care, cow care, field work, and general facility maintenance. The farm also has 4 Friesian horses that graze the green pastures right next to high

way 99. Pigs are also now a part of the farm - raised specifically for meat for the family and customers to enjoy.

Moo-ve over, confusion! 🐮

Ever wondered what the actual difference is between a bull and a steer? Or why you shouldn’t call every animal in the field a “cow”?

We’re breaking down the “moo-cabulary” so you can sound like a pro on your next country drive! Here’s the quick cheat sheet:

Cow: The experienced mama of the group.

Heifer: A young female who hasn’t had a calf yet.

Bull: An intact male (the big boss!).

Steer: A male that can’t have babies, usually raised for beef.

Hot topic… Antibiotics! Here’s our take 👀

We always do what is best for our animals. 🐮❤️ if a cow falls sick and needs treatment we give her the medication to heal. That cow is removed from the milking heard until all traces of treatment is out of her system. Rest assured your milk is always safe, and the cows that give it are heathy and happy too!
