Here’s something pretty cool that we’re not sure our exhibitors and spectators noticed!

The Ladies of the Grasslands Heifer Calf Jackpot was created after Young Ranchman’s became a qualifier for the Calgary Stampede’s Western Elite Bred Heifer Invitational Show. Because our event takes place nearly 10 months before the Calgary Stampede, we needed to develop a way to identify and select a Champion and Reserve heifer calf that would go on to represent our show as bred heifers.

This year, we hosted our 3rd Ladies of the Grasslands Heifer Calf Jackpot and something pretty impressive happened in our Conformation Show!

All three of our Ladies of the Grasslands Grand Champions went on to win their respective divisions, dominating the Black Angus Show!

It was pretty cool to see these females who were recognized in the jackpot over the past 3 years go on to prove themselves in our breed shows as well!
