Cafe Marie is taking over the taproom for a Hallo-Weenie Roast on Friday, October 30, from 4:30 to 7:30pm! 🌭

Check out the full menu! There's a classic dirty dog, a kimchi dog, a Chilean-style completo, and a Hallo-Weenie made with Good Company pumpkin relish. All options can be made gluten-free and vegan!

It’s almost time for the annual Sport and Social Club of Cape Breton Pumpkin Carving Party at Island Folk C***r House 🎃🥂

It’s happening on Tuesday, October 27th, 6-8:30pm at Island Folk (52 Nepean St., Sydney). Tickets are $20/person and available at tinyurl.com/ssccpumpkinparty

Your ticket gets you a pumpkin, all the carving tools you need to create an epic jack-o-lantern, and a chance to win prizes for your efforts.

Meet Ciarán MacGillivray, Taproom Coordinator at Island Folk! 🍎

Originally from the Mira and very much a product of it, Ciarán is one of those wonderfully calm, even-keeled people who seems completely unflappable. And believe us, we've tried to flap him! hehe He's incredibly kind, with a great sense of humour to boot. We're so very lucky to work alongside him. ❤️

His Celtic music background runs deep, and his friends will tell you it's made him genuinely (and impressively) oblivious to modern music. We say this with full affection, Ciarán! 🎻

When he's not coordinating the taproom, you'll find him doing theatre, playing board games or renovating his house. He brought a Star Wars prop for his photo because the films had a huge influence on him growing up, particularly the music. What a doll!

Some fun facts about Ciarán:

🍊 His go-to Island Folk c***r is constantly changing, but right now it's Caramel Apple!

🌍 He speaks French and Italian, and is currently learning Japanese. Casual!

🎵 Currently on repeat: "Finishing the Hat" from Sunday in the Park with George.

🎃 Halloween Music Bingo is coming to the taproom on Friday, October 23, 7-9:30pm, hosted by the one and only Janine!

We’re talking pop classics like Thriller, movie and TV themes like Ghostbusters, and Halloween staples like Monster Mash. If you know the words, you’re already winning hehe. There’s a prize for best costume (though costumes aren’t mandatory) and plenty of great prizes up for grabs throughout the night.

Made with Nova Scotia apples and some pretty extraordinary honey from George Kirkpatrick's bees on Isle Madame, this small-batch seasonal is semi-sweet, lightly floral and full of lovely honeycomb and caramel notes.

We're down to our last 24 cans, but there's still plenty on tap! So if you've got a growler, bring it along and we'll fill 'er up. 🍎
