McTaggart Apiaries is all about the honeybees! We proudly produce 100% Ontario raw/unpasteurized honey. We also have pure beeswax candles.

We believe that nothing should be added or taken away from the natural products that the honeybees make!

It was a great day for the gravel ride! Thanks to Naturally L&A for having us back again this year to serve ice cream and honey! Thanks to matthewsstudio for hosting us! And especially a huge thank you to Abby and Josh for helping us! We couldn’t do this without you guys!

We’re excited to be Stop # 1 in the Naturally L & A Gravel ride again this year! We’re serving ice cream and honey - which is super delicious! We can’t wait to see the 400+ riders on Saturday!

Behind every jar of honey are thousands of hardworking bees and countless hours spent caring for healthy hives. We’re grateful to work alongside these amazing pollinators every day.

Happy Spring! Our honey stand is open for the season! We’re fully stocked and ready for you to stop by. As usual, we are open Monday to Saturday 7am-7pm. We’re looking forward to seeing you soon!

Happy Earth Day 🌎

For us, it’s a good reminder of how much we rely on healthy land, clean water, and strong pollinator populations. Our bees play a small but important role in that every day.

If you’re looking to do something simple today, planting bee-friendly flowers can make a real difference. 🐝

Spring has arrived, and apparently our honeybees put in a formal request for snacks after surviving the winter… so today we delivered: homemade pollen patties! 🐝

As the beekeeper’s wife, I’ve learned that some days involve mixing up what can only be described as “little yellow cow patties.” Not exactly glamorous—but the bees don’t seem to mind! 😂

They’re fed, they’re happy, and hopefully they’ll repay us in honey soon enough! 🍯💛

We’re often asked how honeybees stay warm in the winter. 🐝❄️

Winter bees are larger than summer bees, and instead of hibernating, they gather in a tight cluster around the queen. By vibrating their wing muscles, they keep the center of the hive cozy—around 32° - 38°C.

Turn the sound on to hear the gentle hum of the bees keeping each other warm.
