We would like to inform you of an upcoming change to the price of the Grey Bruce Good Food Box, which will increase from $22 to $25 for all October Good Food Box orders.

This decision was not made lightly. Over the past few months, we have engaged in thoughtful consultation with the program’s local coordinators. There was overwhelming consensus that in light of rising food costs, it is preferable to increase the price rather than reduce the quantity or quality of food included in each box. Maintaining the nutritional value and volume of the boxes remains a top priority for everyone involved.

We appreciate your understanding and support as we continue to ensure the Good Food Box remains a valuable and reliable source of healthy food for households across Grey and Bruce counties.

Do you or someone you know need support with school supplies for the upcoming school year? The Backpack Program is now accepting applications, and you need to apply through 211.

Each backpack is filled with essential, grade-appropriate school supplies to help students start the year off right.

📌 How to apply:
Call or text 2-1-1 to speak with a trained Navigator. They’ll guide you through the application process and ensure you’re registered.

📍 Available for low-income families in Bruce and Grey Counties

This program provides free backpacks filled with school supplies for children and youth from JK to Grade 12. It’s here to help families who might be feeling the back-to-school crunch because every child deserves to start the year feeling confident and prepared.

United Way Bruce Grey is excited to launch a new Fundraising Committee and is looking for 7-8 passionate volunteers to join us! If you live in Bruce Grey, have a positive and energetic attitude and a passion for making a difference in your community, we’d love to hear from you. Meetings will be held once a month for an hour, either virtually or in person if you're in Owen Sound.
