Effective immediately, Gloria's at the Grain will no longer be operating.
This outcome is deeply disappointing to us. For those that don't know, the Grain Elevator recently came under new ownership. That ownership had been working towards a takeover since last fall, and had collaborated with us on their business plan. It was our belief that we would be part of their growth. However, once the deal closed, it became rapidly clear that we were not part of the plan. Efforts were made to reach an agreement that would suit everyone, but nothing could be agreed upon.
Our dedication to local food remains unwavering and it is our hope that we are back in the village as soon as possible. In the meantime, everything you've come to know about us will be available at the Breadbasket.
To end with a bit of levity in a challenging situation... Yes, Melanie is still with us and you will be able to find her in Brule starting next week.
Thank you all for the last 2 years. We're so excited for the next 20.
