Something you may or may not know! This month marks 20 years of buisness for Kaljent Ag !! 🌾

Kaljent Ag Services opened for buisness in August of 2006 running out of Jim's home providing agricultural advice to dozens of farmers and producers in the interlake region.

📍 Kaljent Ag Services later expanded its buisness and relocated to 273 5th Avenue SE in Teulon, MB

Kaljent Ag Services currently supplies hundreds of local farmers, producers, hobby farms, and animal enthusiasts alike with top quality feed, products, and advice 🐄

Thank you to everybody who has supported this buisness over the last 20 years ! We could not have done it without you and are excited to continue serving the community ❤️

Its HOT, are you storing your feed properly ? ☀️

Why is storing feed properly important ?
》Reduces waste
》Minimizes spoilage, loss of quality and the effects that can take on your livestock
》Reduces the risk of mold contamination

Storage Tips for the hot weather include:
》Store feed in a cool, dry place
》Do NOT store feed bags directly on concrete floors where they can wick moisture up. Store feed bags on shelves or pallets instead
》Rotate feed properly - "First In, First Out" Method
》Only purchase and store as much feed as you will use in 4 weeks or less, and steam rolled products that contain molasses should only be stored for a maximum of 2 weeks. Anything longer does not have a guaranteed shelf life past this timeline.
》Minerals & Vitamins begin to degrade after 6 months of storage, make sure your only purchasing what you will use to ensure high quality mineral is being fed to your livestock!
》Ensure rodent control is in place, with the heat these little creatures are looking for cool areas with easy food access!

Kaljent Ag Services will be CLOSED Monday, July 6th in respect to Jim's funeral service🕊

A community Memorial Mass will be held Monday, July 6, 2026 at 11:00am at Teulon Rockwood Centennial Centre, followed by fellowship and private internment.

With deep sadness we announce the unexpected passing of James Micheal Hardy, or Jim, as he was known to most people. Jim passed away, surrounded by family at St. Boniface Hospital. Jim also successfully battled cancer for fifteen years.

It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of Jim Hardy, founder and owner of Kaljent Ag Services.
Kaljent Ag services began in 2006, with Jim working out of his home, providing producers with advice and it just grew from there. This year marks 20 years of Kaljent Ag Services thriving in our small town.

Jim passed away on June 25th, 2026. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather, as well as a prominent member of the community. Kaljent's name originated from his family, "K" standing for Kate, his beloved wife. "al" standing for Alex, one of his sons, "J" standing for Jim, and "ent" standing for Brent, his other son. Jim's family was his world and included them in every way that he could.

Jim had a strong passion for agriculture, and loved to share his knowledge with anybody who asked, as well as he was a skilled agronomist helping out farmers across the interlake region. Jim also enjoyed curling, fishing, being outdoors, spending time with his dog Dixie, and barbequeing for his family. Often on the weekends the staff at Kaljent would hear all about his weekend BBQ plans, and we learned alot of recipes from him 😉

Over the years Jim supported many local Teulon events including the Teulon Curling Club, the Teulon Rodeo, and the Truck & Tractor Pull.

Anybody that knew Jim knows how kind, caring, and compassionate he was. He didn't just listen, but he remembered and helped in any way he could for those around him. Everywhere he went he was always smiling and laughing.

For the moment Kaljent Ag will remain in buisness, and we will keep you updated with any changes that may occur in the future.

Thank you to all of Jim's dedicated customers and friends for supporting his years of hardwork and dedication.
