LSP ANGUS

LSP ANGUS LSP Angus is a seedstock Black Angus ranch that is actively expanding the herd through embryo transfer.

We strive to maintain the true Angus cow families in our herd, with intense focus on feet, udders and a natural middle to our cattle. LSP Angus was initiated in late 2022 with the purchase of our top picks of the Circle G dispersal herd. These proven matriarchs were flushed to a number of the top proven cow making bulls before turnout in 2023. They have proven to be tremendous cows and extremely productive. 2024 brings the very first Registered Angus progeny on our Vogel family ranch.

Ranchers Recap-
From our first snow to our most recent snow, we have been busy! It seems that everyday we’ve been clearing out more and more snow and putting out more and more straw. Numerous hockey and curling tournaments and games for the kids and we haven’t even been near the old computer. Not to mention this cold weather loves to freeze water bowls and make it much harder to do chores. Now that the snow has been beaten back (for now) we plan to keep up with all the activities that 2026 is bringing to our ranch.

Ranchers Recap (Nov 3- Nov 16)
MAN these past two weeks were FULL of crossing things off the to do list. We started off with Snow.. and we mean A LOT of SNOW. And now we are back to having no snow. During the past weeks we weaned the rest of the calves and put everyone in their wintering grounds. We also have been busy preparing for the Canadian Western Agribition. The animals are looking good and we hope to see everyone stop by for a visit at our stall located in the YARDS!

Ranchers Recap (Oct 20- Nov 2)

These past two weeks were busy once again with winter preparation and another snow fall. As per usual we often find ourselves dealing with the trees in the field. Another adventure that we had was getting the White Western Star tuned up for a small road trip.

Ranchers Recap (Oct 13- Oct 19)

The week began with rain and snow, then it was a cloudy and mostly unproductive week outdoors. We got the stranded bale truck home after 20 plus, 10 mile trips back and forth for diagnosis and more tools. Hopefully we have a nice week here for some field work and much needed corral repairs.

Happy Thanksgiving from our ranch to yours! As we sit this morning looking at the white stuff that covers the yard we are Thankful for many things. We are Thankful for this industry and the prices that we are receiving, we are thankful for the health and condition of our herd along with the grass that kept them feed and the forage that we were able to put up. We are thankful for our crew which is our family that we get to work beside every day. We are thankful for all our customers and fellow breeders. Ranchers Recap ( September 15-28)

A 2 week recap here. Took a few days to process some calves, pull bulls and sneak away for a few days. A classic ranch holiday usually involves work…. but in a different location. Leaves are changing color so time to toss the summer to do list out the window and focus on the fall list.

Another week of fall projects. We continue to gather up some wood for the winter and bring the bales home from the fields. During our pasture checks its sure nice to see the cattle enjoy the last bits of the nice weather. We also get to see some wildlife signs in the pasture as well.
