Suddenly it’s October, the markets are winding down, and our thoughts keep drifting toward cozy blankets and PJs.

But! Fresh peanuts are here — one of those weird little seasonal treats that shows up, hangs around for a minute, and disappears again. Grab some while you can.

Got your hands on some pawpaws… now what? 👀

We can be a little precious about pawpaws. They’re rare, the season is ridiculously short, and sometimes it feels like every fruit needs to be reverently eaten with a spoon.

But pawpaws are also just really good food — and an incredibly versatile ingredient.

Make hot sauce. Make cheesecake. Put them in cocktails. Make breakfast. Make dinner. Preserve them. Freeze them. Experiment. Get weird with them.

That’s a big part of why I made The Pawpaw Almanac.

It has 60+ recipes, plus stories, growing info, preservation know-how and everything I’ve picked up from the people who grow, cook with and obsess over this strange little native fruit.

What does this mean for folks looking to get their hands on some fruit? Patience. The season is just getting started and we will have more. Keep an eye on our feed for updates.

Welp that happened...

Drove straight into the hellmouth (i.e. America). Braved tornadoes, golf-ball-sized hail, the Grafton Monster, the Mothman, and descended deep into the wilds of Appalachia... all to bring you lovely folks some pawpaws.

It was one HELL of a drive. My butt hurts. You guys owe me.

It’s starting to feel very real. 👀📚

Just printed a copy of The Pawpaw Almanac for review and it actually looks like an honest to goodness book!

After months of recipes, pawpaw rabbit holes, illustrations, edits, re-edits, and an unreasonable amount of staring at tiny details on a screen… I finally get to see how it all looks on paper.
Now comes the slightly terrifying part: going through every single page before we send it off to print. 😅
